Prague: Whirlwind of Wonder (Post 991)

Bonjour mes chƩries! It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for another whirl around the Pink-Tutu.com world! I'm currently perched precariously on a gilded chair in my little Prague hotel room, bathed in the dusky light of a setting sun and trying to get all my thoughts onto this page before the clock strikes midnight and the magic of this city vanishes.

Speaking of magic, it's time for a little storytime! Remember last week when I was waxing lyrical about all things Czech Republic? Well, this week has been an absolute dream come true. You see, I found the most charming, pink-tinged (of course) little dress shop near the Charles Bridge called "Pink Peony" and, naturally, had to take all your darling darlings on a tour via the Pink-Tutu.com website last Sunday!

After indulging in a delightfully pink afternoon tea complete with clotted cream and scones, I spent a good few hours trying on dresses, scarves, hats, and shoes (oh so many fabulous shoes!) until finally, I landed on the most perfect outfit: a blush pink tulle skirt (it practically sang "tutu!" to me), a creamy white blouse with a delicate lace collar, and a tiny, charming pink handbag to hold all my precious necessities. I can't wait to share a full photoshoot of the whole outfit with you lovely lot next week, complete with a breathtaking Parisian sunset as my backdrop.

But that wasn't the best part! Remember how I said this trip has been magical? Well, on Wednesday evening, I had the incredible fortune of seeing a performance by the Prague National Ballet. Imagine my delight when I walked into the beautiful old theatre, its crimson plush seats and intricate gilded detail all perfectly preserved! The anticipation was electric! I was practically levitating with excitement!

A Symphony of Grace

And oh my, it was breathtaking! I saw Swan Lake, of course! What could be more perfect in this breathtaking city? The choreography was a masterpiece, the dancers a blur of graceful, fluid movement that had me sighing in admiration. The entire performance felt like a symphony ā€“ a harmonious blend of strength and grace, of passion and storytelling. I even spotted a beautiful pink tutu worn by the lead dancer during one scene, and oh my, it was the most delightful pink I'd seen in my life. You bet I'll be sharing all the photos next week!

A Day Trip on the Rails

After all that artistic magic, the weekend came around far too quickly! As you know, I adore traveling by train, especially in Europe! The journeys themselves are so wonderfully nostalgic ā€“ the clickety-clack of wheels on the tracks, the scenery rushing by, and the delightful anticipation of where I might end up.

I was lucky enough to visit the charming little town of ČeskĆ½ Krumlov. Oh my! It's a true hidden gem ā€“ cobbled streets, beautiful Baroque architecture, a fairytale-like castle perched above the river...it really does feel like stepping back in time. It was pure fairytale inspiration, especially after spotting the perfect pink castle and having an adorable picnic overlooking the valley. My Instagram feed went completely crazy that weekend with all the adorable pink tutu selfies, much to the delight of all my lovely pink-loving followers.

Finding Pink Perfection

No visit to Prague would be complete without a visit to the charming little boutiques tucked away on cobbled streets and in the buzzing marketplace. You all know my fondness for vintage clothes, especially tutus! This trip, I found an adorable little store in Old Town called ā€œVintage Pragueā€ and discovered the most extraordinary vintage tutu: a pale blush pink, absolutely perfect for a trip to the ballet. I had to have it, obviously. Itā€™s almost embarrassing how perfectly it matched the gorgeous little pink jacket I bought from another vintage shop a few blocks down.

Speaking of vintage, did you know that tutus have such a long and fascinating history? They haven't always been the airy, voluminous, whimsical creations we see today! They actually started out as quite simple, knee-length garments worn by the ladies of the 19th century. I'm planning on dedicating an entire post to this fascinating history, because frankly, who wouldn't want to learn about the fascinating evolution of such a fabulously whimsical garment!

Ballet Class in the Park

For the last couple of days of my visit, I took to the charming parks in the heart of Prague to practise my pirouettes under the soft, warm sun. Thereā€™s something truly exhilarating about being a ballerina in a new city. Even if the pigeons weren't particularly impressed, the park locals watching were absolutely delighted. I was getting lots of excited ā€œBravosā€ and even an enthusiastic, ā€œWell done!ā€ from a little old lady with the biggest pink smile Iā€™ve ever seen.

Next Stop: Paris!

So, there you have it. My Czech adventure is over! I am heading back to Derbyshire via pony, a beautiful grey with the cutest pink ribbon and a name that sounds vaguely Frenchā€¦ something like ā€˜Coco Chanelā€™, and a story about it coming into my life almost magicallyā€¦ all to be revealed next Wednesday. But fret not, because I'm already counting down the days until my next trip ā€“ this time to the City of Lights!

Next week I'll be posting all about my time in Paris, filled with chic Parisian cafes, beautiful art galleries, and even a few special performance opportunities I might have up my sleeveā€¦ plus a fabulous shoot in my new pink tutu! But for now, I hope you're enjoying a beautiful, warm, and utterly magical week. Until next time, keep swirling those tutus and spread the pink!

Much love,

Emma xx
