Prague: A Pink Tutu-ful Adventure (Blog Post #1016)

Wednesday, 26th November 2014

Hello, darlings! It's Emma here, bringing you another instalment of my Prague adventures! The cobblestones are calling, the air is crisp and... oh, the shops! Just the other day I stumbled upon a tiny boutique tucked away on a side street that was brimming with the most delightful vintage lace. It was practically screaming to be made into a pink tutu. Can you even imagine the possibilities?

Before we dive into the dazzling displays of Prague, I have to tell you about my weekend journey here. After a whirlwind performance in Derbyshire - a joyous ballet of "Giselle" with a spectacular costume change mid-performance - I hopped on a train to Prague. There's something magical about train journeys, wouldn't you say? All that time to gaze out the window, scribbling in my notebook, plotting my ballet-related escapades. And oh, the excitement of seeing new landscapes whiz by! I do love a good train adventure.

When I finally arrived in Prague, it was like stepping into a fairytale. I practically tripped over the beautiful architecture on the way to my hotel - oh, the gothic details, the pastel colours, and all the grand avenues lined with stunning buildings! It was a true testament to the city's history, a perfect backdrop for my little ballet fantasy.

Of course, no trip to Prague would be complete without a little bit of shopping! This weekend, I had my sights set on a new tutu, a touch of velvet to add some drama to my performances. I've got to say, Prague has some of the most fantastic shops I've ever encountered. Each corner holds a hidden gem, waiting to be discovered. I spent hours wandering through antique markets, stumbling across antique lace trims and exquisite fabrics - you can imagine what my brain is already cooking up! It's like my pink tutu fantasy world is already in motion!

And speaking of ballet fantasies, last night was an unforgettable treat. The National Theatre was hosting "Swan Lake," and it was pure magic. From the elegant choreography to the stunning costumes - there were so many tulle gowns and majestic tutus that even I could admire, with a hint of envy for those heavenly feather boa and feather headpieces! The sheer talent on stage was mesmerising - graceful movements, incredible athleticism, and, most importantly, sheer joy. That feeling of freedom that comes with gliding across the stage... It's a feeling that transcends words.

My love affair with ballet began in the grandest halls of Derbyshire - the stately old homes that seemed to whisper secrets from the past, reminding me of the traditions of my art form. But this weekend in Prague, I felt a fresh wave of inspiration, a new love affair with this city, and with the art form itself.

And if you’re looking for a little bit of pink-tutu magic in your own life, I'm here to help! Remember, you can join the pink tutu revolution any time you want! We can create a global wave of pink tutu power. Imagine the impact – ballet-inspired fashion spreading like a wildfire!

Toodles, Emma
