Prague, My Love, Post 1082
Hello darlings,
Itās Wednesday, which means it's time for another installment of my Pink Tutu Prague blog! This week, Iām positively giddy with excitement. Not only have I discovered the most fabulous little tea shop (more on that later!), but Iāve also been whisked away to a truly breathtaking ballet performance.
Now, you all know how much I love a good ballet show. From the graceful leaps and the flowing lines to the dramatic music and the dazzling costumes, Iām utterly captivated by it all.
But this time, it was extra special, not only because the performance itself was a masterpiece, but because Prague just makes everything feel magical, donāt you think?
You see, Iāve been having the most enchanting time exploring Prague. Itās just the perfect mix of charming, romantic, and stylish. Think cobblestone streets, stunning architecture, and endless opportunities to admire and be inspired by beautiful, intricate, detailed fashion.
This weekās performance, āA Midsummer Night's Dreamā at the Prague State Opera, took place at the magnificent National Theatre. It was like stepping into a fairytale, even before the curtain rose! The grandeur of the theatre was something else ā opulent, elegant, and completely spellbinding.
The National Theatre is such a famous landmark in Prague. In fact, they built it from donations by the people of the city. In true Czech style, itās a beautiful building! Built in the 19th century in the Neo-Renaissance style.
Did you know the first ever performance at the theatre was a production of a play about national heroes, āThe Beginning of a Nationā? That just sums up this city, doesn't it? Such national pride and cultural heart.
But back to the ballet!
"A Midsummer Night's Dreamā was an absolute triumph, with such breathtaking choreography and captivating storytelling. You really can't imagine how incredible it felt to see this ballet take shape on that magnificent stage, with such incredible backdrops.
And the costumes, darling? Swoon I mean, what could be more romantic and enchanting than flitting fairies and mischievous sprites?
This performance truly had it all: elegance, magic, and sheer delight. You really couldn't have wished for more. The way the ballerinas spun and soared in the air - oh my, it truly had me spellbound.
You know how I love a dramatic entrance. The theatre itself felt almost as exciting as the performance. To arrive by train was such a special treat, I truly am in love with the romantic allure of European rail travel. The soft clatter of the wheels, the feeling of leaving one place behind and heading toward an adventure! I'll be making a post soon with photos of my chic travel look. Of course, featuring a fabulous pink tutu - thereās no better outfit for exploring Europe. It just makes me feel so whimsical, doesn't it?
After the show, itās always so lovely to stroll the cobbled streets, soak up the evening ambiance and savour every moment. Thatās how I discovered the little tea shop, just off the main square. I couldn't resist popping in. And the aroma that greeted me as I walked through the door! Heaven!
I ordered the most gorgeous-looking floral tea ā you can imagine the delightful floral tones!
Of course, I wouldn't be true to myself if I didn't pick up some local delicacies ā a delicate, lace-like biscuit (made with real, edible, silver, imagine!), and a pot of strawberry jam, (it's the best!). All packed carefully into a vintage pink enamelware container, (because, darling, I just have to have everything in pink! Don't worry, I picked one up with my ballerina initials!)
The little tea shop, as youāll see on my Instagram this week, is just down a small alleyway ā a little haven, where the smell of cinnamon and vanilla makes everything just feel perfect!
Prague has this magical way of transporting you to another world. The history here just whispers around you. Imagine, those cobbles were trod on by such historical figures. You truly feel like youāre living a fairy tale!
Talking of fairytales, one of the things I just adore here is the Castle! Prague Castle. Such breathtaking views across the whole city and so many beautiful buildings inside, with intricate detailing on every wall, each window. Just picture it! I mean, how can one place have such beautiful things? The sheer scale and craftsmanship just leave me speechless.
And itās a wonder what you find when you take a closer look - such beautiful architecture, all of it so meticulously cared for. They are even constructing the grand entrance anew with such detail - it is going to look phenomenal!
Even if I could tell you everything youāll find in Prague, it just wouldnāt do it justice. The charm and beauty have to be experienced first-hand!
So, are you ready for some fun in the Czech Republic? My tip? Come when it's Spring. It is the perfect time, the city blossoms with a vibrant beauty!
As you can see, Iām truly loving every minute of this trip. I'll make sure I have plenty of time to relax and soak it all up and get those travel snaps of all the things you need to see ā from charming coffee shops and beautiful buildings to fabulous shops with unique designs (you know how much I love my fashion, darling!)
My aim this trip? To create memories and to spread the pink tutu love as far as my little tutu-clad legs can carry me! Because what could be better than a beautiful, pink tutu dancing through Prague?
As you know, I love a bit of glamour on the street, just as much as a fantastic performance! If youāve been following along, you know how much I love the fashion at street shows in the evenings ā every Friday! Donāt miss them when youāre here! Such an incredible vibe ā everyone is dressed to impress! Thereās just something about the bohemian spirit of Prague ā so full of artistic energy, with its own blend of whimsical and decadent! And for all you lovers of a bit of vintage glamour, be sure to check out the market on Sunday, I find amazing treasures every week!
Now I must go, I'm just about to get ready for my first ballet class in Prague. Of course, I'll be documenting it all with lots of photos ā a must for every tutu-wearing blogger! It's just like a different world when you step into the ballet studio, a graceful world full of beauty. Oh, the stretches, the graceful leaps, the pliĆ©s! Ballet is an amazing form of art. Don't just admire it on stage, get out there and experience it! And be sure to wear your pink tutu, youāll love the way it moves with every pose!
So much to share with you in the weeks ahead! Next week I will be visiting one of Pragueās oldest and most historic shops for that perfect pink tutu gift! You just know it will have that extra sparkle!
Until next Wednesday, I hope youāll all keep spreading the love.
Much love and hugs,
