Prague: Tutu Travels and Bohemian Rhapsody (Post #1119)

Hello darlings! It's Emma from Pink Tutu, your one-stop shop for all things pink, frilly and fabulous, and I'm positively buzzing after my trip to the magnificent city of Prague! This week's post is a bit longer than usual, but trust me, you'll want to read every word. Prague was such a whimsical experience, filled with castles, cobbled streets, and… you guessed it… pink tutus!

Riding the Rails and a Pony Tale

My journey began in the beautiful English countryside. Derbyshire, my home, was a touch chilly for a pink tutu (though I did layer up with a faux fur coat and sparkly boots), so I took a romantic train ride to Prague. It’s funny, but train journeys always spark creativity and leave me wanting to twirl! It’s the kind of transportation that allows your mind to wander – just me, my suitcase and the sound of the tracks gently rhythmically guiding me towards my destination.

The trip itself was a delightful experience, with rolling green landscapes blurring past the windows. But, here's a secret: I'm a huge fan of riding horses, too. This time, however, a four-legged friend didn’t quite fit into my suitcase, but I dreamt about galloping through Prague's fairytale streets in my pink tutu as I planned out my outfits!

The City of a Hundred Spires: Where Pink Reigns Supreme

Prague! My, oh my, Prague… how breathtaking. This ancient city feels like stepping back in time. Its golden spires and ornate buildings whisper tales of kings and queens, of artists and revolutionaries. The atmosphere was electric with history and romanticism – perfect inspiration for a pink tutu! I practically danced off the train and onto the cobbled streets, my pink tutu swishing with each excited step.

The first thing that struck me about Prague was the colour. The city is alive with vibrant hues – yellows, blues, greens, and, yes, of course, plenty of pink! Every corner seemed to offer a charming boutique, cafe, or hidden courtyard bursting with flowers and overflowing with colours.

I even found a street vendor selling the most delicate, pink ballerina shoes with tiny pink roses around the laces – it was a match made in heaven! I couldn’t resist picking up a pair, of course. It's all about finding little pieces that capture the spirit of a place, isn't it?

Pink Tutu Travels and a Ballet Blitz

Prague is known for its music, art, and of course, theatre. The Prague State Opera is a masterpiece of Baroque architecture, and its ballet company is world renowned. I simply couldn't resist attending a performance! I chose a sparkling tutu for the occasion, complete with a delicate silver embroidery – it shimmered in the soft opera house lights. I was thrilled to see Swan Lake, such a classic story, given a fresh and captivating performance. The choreography was intricate, the dancers elegant, and the entire performance filled me with inspiration! I even met a delightful gentleman who knew about tutu history – apparently, the traditional white tutus didn't become popular until the late 19th century, until then, ballerinas wore a range of colours. How fun is that?

The ballet was a magical evening – a reminder that art can transcend borders, language, and even time itself. I know, you are all thinking "of course!" but I just can’t help being filled with glee every time I see ballet performed live, and a lovely Czech lady did comment on how well my tutu complemented the performance (of course!).

Fashion Finds and Fairy-Tale Flavours

Prague's Old Town Square is a photographer's dream. It's alive with the sound of music, the chatter of locals and tourists, and the tantalizing aroma of street food. But Prague is a place to find truly exquisite fashion – oh my! The clothes stores and vintage boutiques were absolute treasure troves of beautiful and quirky garments! I picked up a gorgeous vintage dress, with lace details that could rival a fairytale princess! It’s definitely something I’ll wear on a date… If I ever get to go on one, but I’m not holding my breath! I'm keeping it in mind for when I find my "happily ever after," that’s for sure. I did treat myself to some vintage hair accessories – pearl combs and feather clips for that ethereal Parisian feel, don’t you know? And they looked fabulous with my pink tutus. Of course, I took my pink tulle for a spin, twirling among the cobblestones and under the iconic astronomical clock. Prague's charm felt like stepping into a ballet.

There's nothing quite like strolling through Prague's medieval alleys, catching glimpses of vibrant cafes and street art, all while twirling in your favourite pink tutu! It’s what I call "pinktastic" and Prague truly embraced this style.

And don't even get me started on the food! The flavours of Prague are an absolute explosion of deliciousness! Think decadent Czech goulash, crisp roasted potatoes, and melt-in-your-mouth apple strudel, washed down with local beers and aromatic Czech coffee – a feast for the senses!

Prague's Pink Paradise: The Secret of Success

Prague was simply divine! The city felt so vibrant and full of life. Maybe it was the medieval castles and the twinkling bridges, perhaps the enchanting cobbled streets or maybe it was the sparkle in my pink tutu, but whatever the magic was, Prague was an unforgettable experience. I was a tiny little dancer in a pink tutu, spinning through history, enjoying every second of it! It's truly the kind of city that you simply have to see, touch, and feel for yourself – preferably while wearing a pink tutu!

Oh, and by the way, my next adventure is Vienna – the city of music and imperial charm! Keep your eyes peeled for a new post, my dears. I promise it'll be brimming with even more pink, fun, and perhaps a touch of waltzing…

Until then, happy twirling!

Yours in pink,

Emma xx
