Prague, Prague, Lovely Prague! Post #1133 - A Pink Tutu's Bohemian Rhapsody!

Hello my lovelies, and welcome to this week's Pink Tutu adventure, straight from the heart of Prague! It's Wednesday, which means it's Pink Tutu blog time, and you know what that means? Yes! Another fabulous journey into the world of twirling, dancing, and all things pink, with a splash of Czech culture for good measure.

Now, I can hear you asking, "Emma, what could possibly be more delightful than a pink tutu-clad tour of Prague?" And I'll tell you, my dears: Absolutely nothing!

This week, I've swapped the cobbled streets of Derbyshire for the charming cobbled streets of Prague, and oh my goodness, what a beautiful city! From the towering spires of Prague Castle to the winding alleys of the Old Town Square, it's a feast for the eyes and the soul. And you know what's even better than Prague's architecture? It's absolutely perfect for a Pink Tutu-loving gal like myself.

The energy here is electric! It's buzzing with the spirit of artistry and creativity, just like my own ballet world. So, itā€™s a dream come true! But let's start from the beginning...

A Fairy Tale Arrival & Train Adventures:

The journey itself was pure enchantment. As usual, I opted for the romantic, slightly bohemian, definitely-pink-tutu-friendly, train travel, from Derbyshire. Donning my trusty pink travel tutu with the adorable cherry blossom embroidery (a bit of pink spring blossom in the midst of February! How charming!), I settled in, listening to the rhythmic click-clacking of the wheels on the track, and marvelled at the world whipping past my window.

And thatā€™s exactly where this weekā€™s post began: My tutu-clad train journey into a storybook setting!

* Prague, Oh Prague, Iā€™m in Loveā€¦ and in Pink:*

The second I arrived at Prague's historic station, I knew I was in for a treat! I felt the whimsical air of fairy tales in the very stones under my ballerina-trained feet! I stepped off the train and was immediately greeted by a city that seemed to dance around me.

For my first adventure, I knew just the spot - Old Town Square. I sashayed my way towards its enchanting charm and found myself surrounded by colourful, historic buildings and a sense of medieval magic.

Letā€™s talk fashion, darling. Prague has definitely given me a serious case of ā€˜shopping inspirationā€™! You can never have too many accessories, especially if they're made with vintage Prague-esque charm!

And I couldnā€™t leave Prague without visiting one of the legendary ballet shops on the streets of Old Town. As much as I love my vintage pieces, it's always a treat to see what the local ateliers have on offer. Itā€™s my treat after every show, and as luck would have it, I discovered the most divine ballerina-pink tulle that looked absolutely ready to twirl! So yes, a tiny tutu creation for myself, of course! My London and Prague outfits are a must in my wardrobe now.

Pink Tutu Prague: A Bohemian Rhapsody of Ballet and Art

The magic of Prague simply wasnā€™t going to wait! The main event on my schedule this trip was the Ballet National de Pragueā€™s rendition of 'La BayadĆØre.' My first ballet experience in the city, I couldnā€™t wait for the enchanting atmosphere! This enchanting theatre (letā€™s just say they know how to design for ballet, complete with the grand chandeliers and ornate box seating) filled me with excitement.

The performance itself was an utter delight! From the swirling costumes, to the elegant choreography, the production swept me away on a wave of romance and spectacle. Seeing such intricate steps with the ā€˜golden era of balletā€™ charm, I just wanted to twirl along with them! The passion, artistry, and elegance were a pure joy!

The night ended with a light and lovely dinner, perfect to soak up the enchanting evening of theatre. A bit of good old fashion Prague charm with delicious dumplings and roast pork made the experience all the more dreamy.

Beyond the Stage: Unveiling the Secrets of Prague's Soul

But letā€™s be real: the joy of exploring a city is just as much about venturing off the beaten path, right? Thatā€™s how I found myself discovering a charming little cafe in a quiet courtyard. Picture this: pink tulle swishing through a cobbled alley, sun streaming through ancient brickwork. It was a scene straight out of a ballet performance itself!

Over a cup of local, Prague coffee and a delicate apricot strudel (just as decadent and romantic as ballet itself!), I got to meet a couple of local artists. Itā€™s so heartwarming, hearing these stories about how ballet has touched lives here. It's something Iā€™ll never stop sharing in my pink tutu blog, right?

But my lovelies, before I delve into even more about the artists, the history, the food, the markets (and did I mention how delightful Prague's vintage tutu shops are?!), I'd better stop here for this week. I have a special event in my pink tutu calendar.

Now, you might be wondering, "Emma, what on Earth could possibly top off an already magical trip to Prague?". Well, darling, tomorrow is a day dedicated to all things dance ā€“ The National Dance Festival!

A week in Prague would not be complete without an amazing, full-day event to celebrate and experience ballet, folk dance, theatre, everything. The best way to close this pink-tutu-fied journey? Ballet. Dance. Performance. You bet! And yes, you'll hear all about it in next week's blog. Until thenā€¦ Happy twirling and keep spreading that pink tutu love!

Until next time,

Emma x
