Prague, my love, Prague! 💕🌸 (Blog post #1150)

Hello my lovelies! 💖 It’s Emma here, back from a whirlwind of a week in Prague, and oh my goodness, you simply wouldn’t believe the adventures I had! This enchanting city stole my heart and sprinkled its magic over every moment.

It was my first time in the Czech Republic, and as I sat on the train from Germany (which I, of course, arrived on via a charming journey by pony… not really, but wouldn’t that be amazing?!) I was bubbling with excitement.

This week, the lovely folks at the Prague National Theatre were so kind to invite me to see their ballet performance of “Swan Lake”. Now, you all know my love for ballet is deep, so this was a dream come true! The stage was grand, the dancers breathtaking, and I just knew I had to be there, clad in my most beautiful pink tutu, of course! (Just imagine how many pictures I managed to take, I was practically bouncing in the stalls! )

But before I gush about the performance, let’s talk about Prague! It truly was a magical experience. Cobbled streets, ancient buildings with charming window boxes overflowing with flowers, and the beautiful Vltava river, it was straight out of a fairytale. I explored every corner of the Old Town Square with its fascinating Astronomical Clock, a real testament to human ingenuity!

Now, let’s get back to my obsession… tutus! 💖 Oh my gosh, I discovered the most amazing shop on my adventures, tucked away on a street with the most gorgeous pastel coloured buildings (the owner told me it’s called the “Little Quarter”). They had these antique ballet tutus from the 19th century! Imagine the stories they could tell. There were even some truly outrageous, sparkling tutus that just scream "theatrical flair" (think feathers, rhinestones, you name it!).

As for Prague's food scene, let’s just say it did not disappoint! I fell head over heels for their traditional Czech cuisine - dumplings, roast pork, and trdelník (the cinnamon pastry which I ate until my heart’s content!) All washed down with the most delicious Czech beer, of course! 😉 (Though I did manage to keep my pink tutu spotless!)

However, the true star of the show had to be the ballet itself. Swan Lake in the Prague National Theatre is a MUST for anyone who loves ballet! The story is one of true beauty and tragic love. But you know what makes a good story great? A spectacular show, the right music and exquisite tutus!

And oh my goodness, those tutus! Imagine a ballet full of the most magnificent swan tutus. I swear I felt transported right into the stage as they swirled around. The costumes were truly inspired by nature’s elegance and the dancers' grace matched the music, creating a symphony of pure visual delight!

And there's so much more to tell! From exploring Prague’s museums, art galleries, and the beautiful, magical Charles Bridge, to indulging in Czech sweet treats (the local pastries are something else! )...I truly was enchanted. It’s like Prague captured my heart and sprinkled it with its own brand of magic!

Now, to answer your biggest question: Did I convince anyone in Prague to wear a pink tutu? The answer is a resounding yes! I spotted this delightful girl in the park wearing the cutest pink tutu skirt! She actually told me she'd never worn pink before, but after seeing me in mine she decided to embrace her inner princess! 🌸💖 This made my heart sing and I believe, my dearies, the world could use a whole lot more pink!

Until next time, my lovelies, stay beautiful! 🌸
