Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballerina’s Parisian Dreams, Post #1166
Hello dears, it's Emma here from your favourite pink-tutu-wearing blogger, reporting live from the beautiful city of Prague! I'm finally here! The cobblestone streets, the gothic spires, the quaint little cafes – it's all so wonderfully romantic and charming. It truly feels like stepping into a storybook, particularly when wearing a delightful tulle creation from my favourite Parisian boutique!
This week's post is going to be extra special. You know how I love exploring historical theatres, and the gorgeous National Theatre here in Prague has been a particular passion for me since I began researching this trip.
Today's adventure has involved taking a lovely horse-drawn carriage ride through the Old Town Square - talk about a picture-perfect moment. Then I took a leisurely stroll through the historic streets to the magnificent National Theatre on the banks of the Vltava River, a truly grand setting for a world of ballet dreams.
Pink Tutu Dreams in a Prague Theatre:I'm just buzzing with excitement. My performance on stage was phenomenal (as usual), the audience was truly captivated by my elegance and grace. My new pink tutu, the "Prague Pearl" I named it, felt absolutely exquisite and looked fabulous on the stage under the bright spotlights, I really feel like it adds an extra layer of glamour.
But back to this magnificent National Theatre. Its rich history simply blew me away. Did you know this impressive building was designed in 1868 by the architects Josef Zítek, Josef Schulz, and Ignác Ullmann? The grand architecture is jaw-dropping. Think vaulted ceilings, decorative murals, exquisite chandeliers, and a beautiful interior made up of elegant velvet and velvet seating. It's like stepping back in time.
National Theatre of PragueThis truly spectacular theatre boasts the impressive dimensions of 85 by 48 metres. Its 145-meter high clock tower and decorative statues make it a focal point for the city, and you just cannot miss its impressive façade.
And then there's the ballet! They truly do things right here in Prague. Today, I was in my element. It was the most graceful, technically dazzling display of talent I have seen in a while, everything felt so precise, even my fellow dancers' smiles were perfectly timed! We brought down the house, it's an absolute thrill when the audience are clapping and shouting in appreciation.
Pink Tutu FashionIt wouldn't be a trip without a spot of fabulous shopping. And what's better than exploring a historic city with a new outfit to admire and celebrate in?
I adore Prague's quirky fashion scene. The bohemian spirit that pulses through this city is everywhere! I found the most beautiful little boutique tucked away down a cobbled street filled with antique jewellery and stylish clothing. I'd recommend checking out the area around Dlouhá Street. You can pick up truly unique items and pieces to add that je ne sais quoi to your own tutu wardrobe.
As you may have guessed, I went home with more pink items! I'm a firm believer in collecting souvenirs that remind you of your journey, even when it means adding to my growing collection of pretty pink clothing! There's nothing like bringing back a few beautiful pieces to make you feel as elegant and sparkly as Prague itself!
On The Menu for TonightTo wrap up today's little piece of pink-tutu bliss, I’m enjoying dinner at the grand U Medvidku restaurant with its authentic Czech pub atmosphere. You can’t get much more authentic than the huge, carved wooden bears!
This evening I plan to enjoy my local favourite - Roast pork with dumplings and sauerkraut. But then, I couldn't leave Prague without indulging in a famous Sacher Torte and a warm, creamy cup of Czech hot chocolate for a nightcap.
Until next time!
XOXO, Emma www.pink-tutu.com
