Pink Tutu Prague: A City of Romance and Romance! 🩰💖

Hello darlings! It's Wednesday, which means a new blog post! And this week, I'm bringing you straight from the magical city of Prague! This is my first visit to the Czech Republic, and I'm already completely smitten!

As you know, I love travelling by train, so I arrived here from Vienna (the most enchanting city!) last Friday after a truly breathtaking journey across the countryside. My window seat gave me views of fairytale castles and fields full of sunflowers!

Once in Prague, I found the perfect place to stay in the Old Town Square, right near the Astronomical Clock. And the first thing I did was pop into a charming cafe for a slice of delicious Prague cake and a glass of sparkling lemonade - it’s the most refreshing drink! Then it was time to wander and explore.

Prague is just as captivating as everyone says - the cobbled streets, the majestic buildings, the iconic Charles Bridge! Every corner held some little surprise! It's no wonder Prague is known as "The City of a Hundred Spires." And of course, being in the city with the "Golden Gate," I couldn’t resist popping into the Jewish Quarter and learning more about the history of the area - and I definitely had to snag a photo next to the magical Golem sculpture.

Of course, no trip to Prague would be complete without indulging in the fabulous shopping scene! I managed to find the most exquisite antique shop - I had to get a dainty brooch and some vintage earrings for my ballet recital later in the month! And I found some delightful local souvenirs, like hand-painted porcelain dolls (wearing little pink tutus, naturally!) that I’m planning to add to my collection.

I also bought myself some gorgeous hand-crafted Czech glass trinkets - so sparkly! It feels like the glassmakers have somehow trapped rainbows within the delicate crystal - I adore the intricate designs. I’ve definitely picked up some treasures.

As for ballet performances, I caught a wonderful ballet matinee last weekend called The Enchanted Woods. The setting was Prague's historical National Theatre. It is simply beautiful. The National Theatre itself has the most elegant foyer - like being in a royal palace! I felt like a true princess in my pink tutu (you knew I'd find the perfect excuse, right?).

The Ballet - Enchantment in the Enchanted Woods The Enchanted Woods was just magical. The story unfolded so beautifully. I loved how the dancers evoked the spirit of the forest itself - so light and carefree, like they were dancing on the wind! The lead ballerina, Lucia, was exquisite; so graceful and powerful. She reminded me of the amazing dancers from Sleeping Beauty, who inspired me so much when I was younger.

One thing that stood out in The Enchanted Woods was how the ballet made use of different genres of dance. I spotted hints of folk dancing that brought a sense of folklore and tradition to the ballet, giving it a beautiful local flavor. There was also a little flamenco mixed in, giving the performance a hot and sassy feel!

One of the scenes involved some lovely acrobatic dance sequences. The ballerinas effortlessly flung themselves through the air, catching themselves on silks and hoops - like dancing nymphs soaring above the trees.

And you won’t believe the incredible costumes. They were so much like a piece of wearable art, all shimmering and sparkling with delicate details that felt just like a whisper of the enchanted woods.

Oh, and the music? Absolutely exquisite. So delicate and sweeping, with moments of dramatic grandeur and touches of humor. Every note was like a magic spell, drawing me into the world of the Enchanted Woods! The performance really captured the wonder and enchantment of the story, leaving me feeling absolutely elated!

The most magical moment was at the very end. As the curtain came down and the audience gave their standing ovation, I found myself smiling so hard my face hurt. It was that powerful feeling of joy that only ballet can bring.

Ballet is in My Blood, and Prague is in My Heart!

This trip to Prague has given me such a sense of whimsy and wonder! The city’s romantic atmosphere and history feels almost as if I’ve been whisked back to a fairy tale. The ballet performance was just incredible.

You know what else has been absolutely delightful? My stay at my gorgeous little boutique hotel. It’s one of those hidden gems that make you feel so cosmopolitan. The courtyard is filled with little lavender bushes, which I just love - and it feels so tranquil after a busy day exploring.

As you know, a little part of me lives to shop! I've managed to discover some wonderful little boutiques selling truly unique clothes and accessories. My new favorite is this cute little vintage shop nestled in the side street near my hotel. I'm actually in it right now! They've got these fabulously quirky tutus - not just the usual pink ones, but also designs with lace and sequins, or even tiny little fairy wings!

Oh, darling, I just have to tell you about a wonderful vintage-inspired tutu I found - and of course I had to buy it! I’m planning to add it to my wardrobe. It’s a blush pink tutu with lace trim and it has a sweet bow attached that perfectly matches my favorite pink ribbon headband - a match made in heaven, wouldn’t you say? I've got my eye on some little kitten heels to go with it too! And a matching pink handbag, of course.

The shopping streets are alive with colours - everything from vintage clothes to bohemian designs. And the energy? Infectious! I really wanted to do a impromptu street performance - I haven’t found a perfect location yet, but who knows! Perhaps in next week's post….
