Pink Tutu Prague: Post 1193 – Ballet in Bloom!

Hello my darling Tutu Twirlers! It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for another post from yours truly, your very own pink-tutu-wearing, ballet-loving travel blogger! I’m currently tucked up in a cosy little hotel room in Prague, writing to you from a charming corner of this beautiful city, and honestly, I’m positively buzzing! This trip has already been overflowing with so much gorgeousness!

So, let’s start where all good stories should: with a bit of travel chat. I got to Prague via, you guessed it, train! I’m an absolute train aficionado, finding that rhythmic chugging sound incredibly soothing. I even managed to sneak in a few ballet stretches while I was onboard, much to the amusement of some rather bemused fellow passengers. But hey, what's life without a little tutus-on-the-train magic, eh? 😉

Once I’d arrived, and checked into my hotel, I popped on my latest tutu (a divine lilac confection with silver sequined detailing!), and hit the streets for a little explore. Prague is truly a fairytale city, with cobblestone streets winding through medieval buildings, each with their own distinct history and charm. Imagine, darling, strolling along these streets with the most dazzling tutu in sight, watching the sunshine reflect off those beautiful towers! My goodness, the photo opportunities were endless.

Of course, no trip to Prague is complete without a trip to see the magnificent National Theatre, a stunning Neo-Renaissance building with a grand history. I stood on those hallowed steps for what felt like hours, feeling utterly transported back in time, imagining the legendary ballet performances of old! (There's just something about the history of ballet, isn’t there? It’s simply enthralling!)

And the food? Oh darling, the food! Prague is a real gourmand’s paradise, with delectable pastries, rich stews, and the most delightful sweet treats! I indulged in the most charmingly ornate cake at a charming little café in the Old Town Square. And I must say, a delightful cup of tea after a long day of ballet touring simply makes everything better.

Now, for the big event you’ve all been waiting for! It’s Ballet night in Prague! Tonight, I am attending the National Theatre's performance of Don Quixote, which, if you’re not familiar with it, is a story of love, dreams, and… well, windmills! Honestly, it’s one of my all-time favourite ballets. There's something truly enchanting about that romantic, comedic tale! I’m already practically dancing in my seat with excitement!

Of course, no self-respecting tutu-wearing traveller goes to a show without some fantastic fashion choices! I've been on the hunt for the perfect accessories for the evening, and have stumbled across a truly amazing vintage jewellery store near the Charles Bridge. You just wouldn't believe the fabulous gems I found! A chunky, vintage silver necklace to add a bit of glam to my lilac tutu, a vintage broach adorned with sparkling crystals, and of course, a pair of dazzling pink gloves. What’s a ballet lover to do? Every outfit needs to sparkle, darling! 😉

Don’t forget to keep an eye out for more adventures on PinkTutu.com next Wednesday! I’ll be filling you in on all the exciting highlights of my evening at the theatre. I’m planning on taking some fabulous photos of the ballerinas – you know I have to share my favourite shots with my dear tutu followers! And maybe, just maybe, we can recreate some of the poses together next week! Who’s in for some Don Quixote-inspired tutus and tiaras?

Now, off I dash to get ready! I have a show to catch!

With love and twirls, Emma 🩰💕
