Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballerina's Bohemian Dream (Post #1208)
Hello darlings! It's Emma here, your resident pink tutu aficionado, reporting live from the magical city of Prague!
The journey here was pure enchantment, starting with a whistle-stop trip by train through the rolling Derbyshire countryside, my tulle petticoat billowing out the window like a mischievous fairy. (I do have a rather embarrassing incident with a cow in a field, but let's not dwell on that... suffice to say, tutus aren't quite as practical in bovine encounters!) I finally made it to the train station in Prague and what a scene! The grandeur, the cobbled streets, the tantalising scent of Czech pastries in the air - this city felt like a fairytale brought to life.
Speaking of fairytales, my quest here in Prague is no less enchanting. I'm here to delve into the city's rich ballet history, soak up the bohemian energy and, of course, explore the local tutu scene. Prague, with its history of dance and its dedication to the arts, is the perfect setting to find some fabulous tutus for my collection!

Now, my darlings, I know you're all itching to hear about my ballet exploits! Firstly, let's talk about the fabulous Prague State Opera, the very heart of ballet in this charming city. It's a truly awe-inspiring building, both from the outside and within. The opulent decor and the electrifying atmosphere gave me butterflies even before the curtains rose! The ballet, "Giselle," was exquisite. The dancers were sublime, their movements so graceful, each pirouette a testament to the years of training. The costumes were simply divine – think billowing tutus, diaphanous silks, and shimmering embroidery. My personal highlight, however, was the intricate detail of the corseted bodices. Each was a work of art, meticulously constructed, accentuating the beauty of the dancers’ lines. I couldn't resist purchasing a little souvenir corset to remember this beautiful ballet by!

But Prague's ballet scene goes far beyond the opera house. Everywhere you look, there’s an air of creativity and movement. The street performances alone are worth the trip! I stumbled upon a troupe of talented street dancers right by the Charles Bridge – a testament to the artistic heart of this city. Their routines were full of energy and charm, incorporating elements of both classical and contemporary styles, leaving me spellbound. I may or may not have shed a tear of joy. It’s so inspiring to see ballet being embraced in such a unique way!

And speaking of tutus... Prague is a real haven for tutu lovers! I've been spending my days exploring the city's boutique fashion scene, searching for the perfect additions to my collection. My hunt has been fruitful, darlings. I have stumbled upon a little hidden gem called "Ballet Bloom", an adorable vintage boutique overflowing with delicate tutus, shimmering bodices and glittering hairpieces. The owner, a delightful lady with the most enchanting pink-streaked hair, was so passionate about ballet and the artistry of these pieces. I practically had to drag myself away, clutching two perfect pink tutus that would be the envy of every ballerina (and, of course, several darling pairs of pointe shoes!).

The other highlight of my trip has been the culinary scene, especially the Czech dumplings. Oh my, darling, I never thought I would have such a profound appreciation for dough. I highly recommend Trdelník - a sweet dough pastry – try it, you will be amazed by this Czech delight! I managed to work it into my wardrobe – (let’s be honest, my pink tutus are getting a bit heavy!). I wore it in the evenings – so decadent! You see, it's important to find ways to incorporate ballet into every facet of life, even if it means incorporating it into your wardrobe!

I'm also on the hunt for some authentic Czech pink tulle and the perfect Prague vintage brooch. My latest obsession? You know me, it's gotta be pink and it has to sparkle! After all, when in Prague, do as the Czechs do... except, make sure you do it in a stunning pink tutu.
This post was a whirlwind, my dear readers, but there’s so much more to tell you! Prague is truly a magical city, one that feels infused with both grace and wild energy. It’s inspired me to look at ballet with fresh eyes and find beauty in every detail. And don't forget, I'll be back next Wednesday with even more delightful updates. Stay tuned for more adventures from Prague and make sure to check back next week for more ballet and fashion delights from this fantastic city!
Until then, remember, the only way to spread the joy is by wearing a pink tutu.
With a sprinkle of ballerina magic,
Emma x
