Prague, Prague, Prague! Pink Tutu takes on the City of a Hundred Spires! #1209
Bonjour mes chƩries! It's Emma here, your Pink Tutu correspondent, writing to you from the magical, fairytale city of Prague!
I've had this trip planned for ages - Prague, the city of romantic bridges, delicious pastries, and beautiful architecture has been calling my name ever since I saw a picture of the Charles Bridge bathed in the golden glow of the setting sun. I had visions of waltzing across the cobbled streets, my pink tutu swirling like a cloud of pink candy floss. Well, darling, my visions have come true!
This week, I decided to bring a touch of Pink Tutu magic to the city of a hundred spires. It's a place with a history that resonates with so much beauty and culture, just like the world of ballet, and as soon as I saw that my beloved ballet troupe "Ballet for Everyone" would be performing here in August, I booked my ticket.
This week has been an absolute dream, and trust me, darlings, this blog post is just the tip of the pink iceberg. Prepare yourself for the ultimate tutu-tastic adventure in the heart of Europe!
A Travelogue fit for a Pink Princess
As I mentioned in last week's blog (you did read it, didn't you?), I love nothing more than a journey by train. Something about the rhythmic clackety-clack of the rails puts me in a romantic mood, ready for adventure. This trip was no exception. After packing my Pink Tutu Suitcase, (think lots of pink tulle and sequins!), I kissed Derbyshire goodbye, hopped on a train to London, then onwards, towards my destination. Iām telling you, girls, you have to experience the sheer magic of train travel ā especially through the countryside! The rolling hills, the little villages, itās like a scene from a film.
First Impressions: The Magic of Prague
And then there was Prague. Stepping off the train, the moment I caught my first glimpse of those majestic spires reaching for the sky, my heart leapt with joy! The architecture is truly something else, darling - I felt like I'd walked onto a movie set, with fairytale turrets, baroque flourishes, and pastel colours all dancing in front of my eyes. The city instantly transported me to a different time, and honestly, I was completely swept away.
And let's talk about the people of Prague. They're just so lovely. Warm, welcoming, and with such a charming accent! I couldn't help but blush every time they looked at me with such kindness.
Shopping Spree! Finding the Perfect Tutu in Prague
Naturally, after settling into my pink hotel room - (seriously, who knew a hotel room could be so pink?) - the first order of business was exploring Pragueās fantastic boutiques. Thereās a certain buzz about Prague, a sense of vibrant creativity that is absolutely infectious! It took all my willpower to keep myself focused, but of course, a trip wouldn't be complete without a tutu spree.
Now, my dear readers, finding the perfect pink tutu for a night of dancing on Pragueās cobblestone streets was a task I didnāt take lightly. The quest took me through narrow alleyways filled with artisan shops, each brimming with unique, beautifully crafted creations. I sampled frothy tulle, spun like dreams, felt the softness of hand-dyed silk, and ultimately found the perfect pink masterpiece: a layered tulle creation with a cascading cloud of pink netting and sequins, delicately hand-stitched with exquisite pink pearls. (I just had to have it!)
Prague, through Pink Tutu Eyes
This week, Iāve been indulging in everything Prague has to offer. Iāve climbed the majestic towers of the Prague Castle for a stunning view of the city; the cobblestone paths leading up were truly magical! I have spent hours admiring the beautiful buildings on the Charles Bridge - did you know it was designed by an Italian architect in the 14th century? āand even got to try some authentic Czech gingerbread āit's amazing!
On the first night, I even had the absolute joy of attending a special opening reception at Pragueās prestigious ballet theatre. And it was here that I truly felt the city come alive! The music, the vibrant costumes, the elegance and precision of the dancers āit was pure ballet magic. It really struck me how even though our tutu dreams transcend borders, there is always something new and wonderful to discover about this fascinating world!
An Evening at The Theatre
Todayās the day, darlings! I am going to see āBallet for Everyoneā perform their heart-wrenching, tutu-tastic production of Swan Lake, and I couldnāt be more excited! The Czech Ballet has a truly special energy to it; there's something that makes the ballets just a little bit more dramatic, a little more grand than any other ballet I've seen!
This has to be one of the most gorgeous venues in the entire world - you can just feel the weight of all the historical performances here! Every little detail in this theater is exquisite! It's truly enchanting!
After the performance, I'm planning on strolling through Old Town, admiring the brightly lit clock tower - you can't go to Prague without watching it come alive.

Itās not all pink tutus and magical performances though, I have also explored Pragueās vibrant street art scene. You guys, this city is filled with some truly inspirational graffiti artists. The stories, the colours, and the energy of it all left me completely spellbound. Thereās even a famous Pink Wall in Prague that's adorned with all sorts of beautiful designs. And you know I couldnāt leave it alone! I'll be posting photos of this on www.pink-tutu.com on Wednesday.
As you know, Iām all about finding the magic in the ordinary and Prague is certainly not ordinary. It's a city that vibrates with a heart of pure joy and love for the art of performance and creativity, so it really has stolen a little bit of my heart!
But before I go, there's a question I have to ask: have you found your Pink Tutu this week, darlings? What will your life look like with a dash of pink tulle and an abundance of joy? Tell me everything! I want to hear your stories!
And remember: a little bit of Pink Tutu goes a long way! Until next time, darlings.
Lots of pink love,
Emma, your Pink Tutu Correspondent
P.S: If youāre in Prague on August 8th, donāt forget to check out āBallet for Everyoneāsā Swan Lake! It's an incredible production you don't want to miss!
