#PinkTutuPrague Ballet in Prague 2019-06-05

Hello my beautiful lovelies,

It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for another dose of Pink Tutu Prague from your favourite ballerina blogger, Emma! And this week, let me tell you, my darling readers, Prague is truly living up to its fairytale reputation! I’m positively waltzing through the cobbled streets in a blush pink tutu and my trusty white ballet flats, with the most glorious views of the Charles Bridge as my backdrop. This city has seriously stolen my heart!

And to celebrate, I’m kicking things off with a story from the heart of the Czech capital…

This week, I found myself on the most magnificent boat trip down the Vltava River, and not just any boat, but a vintage, paddle-steamer vessel called Vyšehrad. It’s like stepping into a classic Czech fairy tale. You can picture yourself waltzing into the scene straight out of a Tchaikovsky ballet. Oh, darling, and the views! I’m talking Gothic churches peeking over the banks, bridges like spun sugar, and the most breathtaking sunset reflecting across the river – a moment straight out of one of those ballet sets that leaves you speechless.

It was the perfect way to see the beauty of this incredible city. And just imagine, my dears, as I swayed gracefully along with the boat's rhythm, I almost forgot I was in a bright pink tutu. Almost, that is!

Speaking of tutus… I can’t possibly tell you about this boat trip without giving you a full pink tutu breakdown! This one was my trusty old favourite, a billowing cloud of pink tulle with delicate pastel lace trim. It’s one of my “travelling tutus” and a perfect blend of ballerina-chic and traveller comfort. Imagine if your suitcase could double as a twirling masterpiece! You can never go wrong with a pink tutu and a stunning location, and Prague? My dears, Prague simply demands it!

And as if this city couldn't get any more charming, my darling, Prague has the most adorable bakeries! I'm talking pastries so sweet and delicious, you'd think they were straight from the ballet stage itself, light as a ballerina’s pirouette! We found one charming place called “La Boheme" just around the corner from the opera house - just imagine! How fitting, isn't it? And every single cake was like a sugary art installation. Their famous babovka (a kind of coffee cake, I discovered) with its melt-in-your-mouth sweetness made even the most demanding ballerina blogger like myself surrender to a bit of guilty pleasure. Oh, I forgot to mention, darling, that I found a shop in Prague's Old Town district that had the most beautiful little pink teacups and sugar bowls – just imagine, darling, those on my pink-tutu inspired tea table!

Now, back to the ballet scene, my lovelies! Last week’s performance was breathtaking! We had a truly fabulous time at the beautiful Estates Theatre, a real jewel in Prague’s cultural crown. It's like stepping back into a golden era, with red velvet seats and glittering chandeliers. And as for the ballet itself? A timeless classic, Giselle. My heart ached with the poignant story of the innocent peasant girl, and the power of her passion and devotion. It's a ballet that speaks to the soul! And trust me, dear readers, in the magic of that atmosphere, the colours and the costumes are everything. Imagine, the grace, the artistry and the beauty on display, and I couldn't help but get lost in the swirling world of dance and artistry, right in the middle of this enchanting city!

The sheer beauty of it all really is something special, isn’t it, my dears? Especially after my recent little ballet excursion…

But before we dive into all the fashionable, whimsical delights of Prague, I have to share this absolutely delightful experience I had last week: a charming train trip to a nearby countryside town, all to see a ballet performance at a little town hall! It was the most adorable ballet experience. The little town was absolutely charming – a fairytale landscape of fields, forests and rustic houses painted with cheerful colours! My heart was absolutely skipping a beat! Oh, how I love to explore with my pink tutu.

I know some of you might think this seems a little crazy, darling. Imagine me, Emma the pink tutu ballerina blogger, in the middle of nowhere, heading off to a ballet performance in a quaint, charming little town! I guess I love a little touch of adventure in my life! But trust me, darlings, it was the most incredible experience. It was just like those stories in those beautiful old ballets I adore, a touch of fairytale, an unforgettable adventure.

Speaking of charming countryside escapes, this also made me want to share a few ballet-themed travel tips…

Whether it’s a fancy performance at the Royal Opera House or a cosy, local town hall event, darling, remember this – it's the magic of the experience, the passion and dedication of the dancers, and the unique charm of the location that makes every ballet performance so unforgettable!

For my fellow ballet enthusiasts who dream of ballet adventures, I always encourage you to venture off the beaten track and seek out hidden treasures! Imagine finding the perfect performance tucked away in a little village, a historical castle or a beautiful countryside theatre. That's the beauty of exploring the world of dance, isn't it? Speaking of surprises, my darlings, I had an absolutely magical experience this week…

I spent an afternoon with a group of talented ballet students from the Prague Conservatory! Imagine, me, the pink tutu ballerina blogger, teaching the future stars of the Czech dance scene! My darling readers, I confess, I’m still pinching myself.

Of course, I taught them a little pink tutu magic – a Pink Tutu-fied interpretation of some of my favourite ballet moves, filled with playful flourishes, graceful jumps, and even a few cheeky pink tutu spins! The laughter and excitement in the air was infectious. It was the perfect balance of elegant artistry and whimsical, pink tutu magic, and my dear readers, the students were amazing, just as dedicated to the art of dance as any true ballerina! It’s such a rewarding experience to help them grow their passion, just as dancing has blossomed in my own life!

It was also, let me tell you, a fabulous way to connect with my fellow dance-loving souls! Sharing my passion with these talented young people made my heart sing! It's experiences like these, my dears, that really make you understand the universal language of ballet, its magic that transcends cultures and continents.

And speaking of cultures and continents, it’s time to talk about the absolute treasure trove of fashionable delights I've been finding around Prague! I'm talking elegant boutiques, whimsical vintage shops, and markets brimming with treasures waiting to be discovered! Prague, you see, is like stepping into a scene out of my pink tutu world, where every shop window is a beautiful piece of art, filled with inspiration and whimsy.

From exquisite glasswork and intricate porcelain dolls (the babushka dolls, oh, my darling, you’ll love them!), to hand-crafted jewellery and colourful scarves, this city is a playground for a pink tutu blogger's heart! And let me tell you, darlings, I've already started adding some pretty pieces to my collection! Prague’s creative spirit is seriously contagious, you can tell that by the passion for the art of fashion that seems to bubble around every corner.

Oh, darling, just last week I found a stunning vintage shop where the owners were true style icons. Their own personal collections are literally overflowing with vintage glamour! You know, it makes you think, ballet, and style, are really two sides of the same coin – a passionate exploration of artistry and creativity! And Prague, you see, is truly a perfect expression of both.

Here's a tip, my lovelies – If you're searching for that perfect ballerina chic look, think layers! A blush pink dress paired with a soft lace cardigan and some statement earrings creates a lovely romantic silhouette. Add some floral detailing for a playful touch! And a pop of colour on your lips, darlings? Oh yes, this is always a must.

Now, about my pink tutu, dear readers, well, I had to treat myself to a new pink tutu while in this city. I mean, it would be wrong to leave Prague without at least one pink tutu souvenir, wouldn’t you agree? I mean, let's face it, we're in a city that's so beautiful, so rich in its history and artistry, that a pink tutu almost seems to belong!

My latest purchase, you see, darling, is the most delicate thing! A cloud of light pink tulle, it looks like spun sugar! I can already imagine twirling it on the Charles Bridge, or through the stunning gardens of Prague Castle, as I imagine all my dearest followers doing, twirling all over the world!

And don't even get me started on the delicious food and the charming cafes I've been discovering. From traditional knedlicky to the most adorable babeczki (cupcake in Czech, darling!), Prague knows how to pamper your sweet tooth and feed your soul! And let me tell you, darling, my sweet tooth is quite the passionate ballerina fan!

Oh, and I'm still looking for that perfect vintage pink tutu to complete my Prague collection! But I have a feeling, darlings, that this city has a treasure waiting around every corner – and the next corner will be an adventure!
