Prague, My Pink Tutu Dreams Are Coming True! (Blog Post #1282)

Hello darlings!

It’s Wednesday, so you know what that means! Time for another pink-tastic blog post from your favourite ballerina blogger. This week, I’m buzzing because I’m writing to you from Prague! Can you believe it? Prague, the city of fairytale architecture and enchanting charm, and I’m right here, in my favourite pink tutu, of course! 💖

Let’s rewind a little. How did I end up in Prague, you ask? Well, my loves, it’s all thanks to my wonderful tutu-filled adventures. After my dazzling performance with the Derbyshire Ballet in our production of “Sleeping Beauty”, (a total smash, by the way!), I earned enough to fuel my wanderlust and fund this incredible trip. I booked my train ticket, packed my pinkest and most sparkly tutu (and yes, I have an entire wardrobe dedicated to my love of the tulle!) and off I went.

This city, oh this city! It feels like I’ve stepped right into a fairytale. Everywhere I look, the architecture is straight out of a princess's dream - charming little squares with pastel-coloured buildings, magnificent churches with soaring spires that reach for the clouds, and the famous Charles Bridge, a cobblestone masterpiece overlooking the stunning Vltava River. It’s truly breath-taking.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Emma, this isn’t about architecture, tell us about the ballet! You wouldn’t go all this way without catching a show!” You’re absolutely right! The National Theatre, Prague’s iconic home to the performing arts, is on my must-see list! Tonight, they’re performing a rendition of "Giselle" – a ballet classic. đŸ©°

Can you imagine? A dreamy waltz by the Vltava River with Prague Castle illuminating the evening sky
it's giving fairytale princess, right? And the thought of seeing this iconic ballet in such a grand setting has me practically bouncing with excitement! It’s just chef’s kiss.

Before we delve into the ballet scene here, I simply had to explore the city in true ballerina fashion!

Imagine a gentle, springy trot, ballet-like movements as I meandered through the old town, a pink tutu fluttering around me as I pass charming little shops brimming with souvenirs and traditional Czech glass. My heart skipped a beat as I found a shop dedicated entirely to crystal glassware. It felt like something out of a Cinderella story.

Later, I treated myself to a delicious meal in the city's vibrant Old Town Square. I felt like a real Czech princess, surrounded by fairy tale buildings, a symphony of sounds and scents. The fresh smell of traditional Trdelník, those delightful cinnamon pastries, had my tummy rumbling. I know, it’s the little things, right?

Speaking of things that make my ballerina heart sing, you’ve got to see the incredible National Theatre. It's just a dazzling spectacle – all ornate dĂ©cor, red velvet seats and magnificent chandeliers. I practically squealed with delight when I first laid eyes on it.

Now, onto the big news – the ballet itself! Tonight, the stage is set for "Giselle." Can you believe I haven’t had the pleasure of seeing this beautiful and heartbreaking story before? My inner ballerina was beside herself with excitement!

The show was utterly magnificent! The costumes were stunning, the choreography breathtaking, and the story had me both enthralled and emotionally moved. The entire production showcased the grace and beauty of classical ballet, the raw power of human emotion, and a powerful reminder that beauty truly can come from the most unexpected places.

As the curtains fell, I felt so much inspiration swirling through me! It truly was a night to remember.

Of course, no trip to Prague would be complete without a little retail therapy, right? So I’ve been on the hunt for a special something to remember this city by
you’ll never believe what I found! A gorgeous vintage ballet costume in a breathtaking shade of blush pink, with a hand-beaded bodice! It’s absolutely perfect for me, and I can’t wait to wear it on stage at my next performance back home in Derbyshire.

So, there you have it, darlings. Another unforgettable chapter in my pink tutu journey. This city, the ballet, the fashion, it's all so much magic. I’m leaving Prague with my heart overflowing with memories. And who knows, maybe someday I’ll be dancing on a Prague stage myself!

That’s all for now, but do join me next Wednesday for more adventures, ballet stories, and maybe even a glimpse into my pink tutu wardrobe! Don’t forget to follow me on my socials! @PinkTutuEmma! 💖

Until then, keep twirling!

Emma.
