Prague Calling! A Pink Tutu's Adventure (Blog Post #1284)

Hello darlings! Emma here, your resident pink tutu enthusiast, and I'm positively giddy to be writing this post from the magical city of Prague! This week, I've traded my Derbyshire hills for the cobbled streets and fairy-tale architecture of this enchanting city.

Now, I'm sure you all know that a pink tutu can take you anywhere! And as always, my trusty travel companion is packed with enough sparkly pink tulle to rival the entire wardrobe of a fairytale princess. So naturally, Prague just had to be on my list of destinations.

Trains and Tutus: A Stylish Journey to Prague

I must confess, getting here was an adventure in itself. I opted for a charming journey by train, and I'll be honest, I couldn't resist donning a custom pink tutu made specifically for train travel (think a soft, swishing skirt, with strategically placed pockets for travel essentials - naturally, a tiny bottle of glitter is a must). You'd be amazed how much fun it is to watch the world go by from a seat adorned with a fabulous pink tutu! It truly puts the "express" in "express train".

Speaking of travels, let's talk ponies. The journey wasn't entirely by train - I did sneak in a short but glorious pony ride! Think rolling green fields, sunny skies, and the feel of the wind in my hair as my pink tutu gently swished. Truly, there's nothing more magical than riding a pony while wearing a pink tutu - and it’s the perfect way to embrace a new city's charm.

A Ballerina's Delight: Prague National Theatre

Prague, for all its picturesque charm, also boasts an incredibly rich ballet heritage, which, naturally, is right up my street.

My first stop in the city had to be the National Theatre - a truly awe-inspiring building, with a dramatic facade and grand staircases that could make even the most confident ballerina feel a tad bit shy (in a good way, of course). But fear not! I was up for the challenge, and with my signature pink tutu billowing proudly behind me, I swept through the corridors and headed straight for the majestic auditorium.

The show that I saw was something truly special: Swan Lake. It was breathtaking, featuring exquisite costumes and masterful dancing, but you know me – I have eyes for the tutus. It's the little details, isn’t it? I was mesmerised by the intricate designs of the tutus – a delicate touch of pink here, a smattering of feathers there. And, of course, the legendary white tutu of Odette took my breath away!

While I was transfixed, I knew I had to share my experience with you all, my dear tutu enthusiasts. So I took a quick trip back to my hotel to put on a particularly glamorous pink tutu (because what else would one wear to a ballet show?) and posed proudly under the Prague moon. After all, the hashtag #PinkTutuPrague was born!

Shopping in the Heart of Prague

No trip to a European city would be complete without some exquisite shopping. Prague's cobbled streets are crammed with quaint shops, and I have a feeling that some "pinktastic" purchases were made.

First stop: a beautiful boutique hidden in a back street, selling exquisitely crafted accessories. It wouldn't have taken a genius to guess what caught my eye - a stunning pink beret! Yes, it's time for some autumnal fashion inspiration, and the pink beret is the perfect way to bring a touch of whimsy and sophistication to a Parisian-style coat.

Next, I found myself mesmerised by a vintage clothing shop overflowing with treasures from a bygone era. As a pink tutu aficionado, I was ecstatic to discover a truly rare vintage ballet tutu (you can't imagine my excitement when I discovered the delicate pink tulle peeking from under layers of carefully-preserved clothing! It's destined for a photo shoot – just wait!).

Ballet, Fashion, and The Pink Tutu

I spent the day exploring Prague's hidden corners, visiting charming cafés with floral wallpaper and catching street performances by talented musicians. Prague's energy is truly magical, and I have to admit I spent a fair amount of time reflecting on the ballet heritage that permeates the city, as well as its own individual beauty and elegance. I felt inspired. It was as if the city was whispering about the magic of movement, the delicate beauty of ballet and the pure joy of self-expression, just like I do through my pink tutus!

So many thoughts have flooded my mind over these last few days: what inspires my favourite ballerinas? What stories are told by a tutu? How can we create a world where tutus aren't just worn on stage, but on the streets, in shops, and in everyday life? What would the perfect tutu for a fairytale palace in Prague look like? So much to contemplate!

Stay tuned for more updates from this enchanting city as I explore its hidden wonders, share fashion tips, and explore more of its breathtaking ballet scene! Don’t forget to join me in the #PinkTutuPrague revolution!

Until next week, my loves!

Your devoted pink tutu enthusiast,

Emma.
