Pink Tutu Prague: Where Dreams Dance in the Air (Post #1286)

Wednesday, January 29th, 2020

Dearest fellow tutu-lovers! It’s Emma here, writing to you from the magical city of Prague! It’s my second week here, and my little pink heart is bursting with excitement.

Before we delve into my Prague adventures, a quick update from my travels! It was quite the journey, reaching this lovely city!

Imagine, if you will, a vintage train carriage, sunlight streaming through the windows, throwing golden beams onto the old velvet seats. I’m sat snugly by the window, wearing my latest tutu creation: a stunning pink and cream affair, adorned with tiny pearl details, and topped with a feathered pink boater. This, I assure you, is a tutu for all seasons! It looked absolutely divine against the passing landscape, with the gentle rocking of the train adding its own rhythm to the day.

Upon arriving at the Prague train station, I encountered an adorable little pony with a gleaming pink saddle and bridle. A most appropriate sight, don't you think? Apparently, he’s a regular feature at the station, there to delight tired travellers! And, being me, I simply couldn’t resist a photo opportunity! My tutu flowed beautifully as I posed beside the pony, earning envious looks from fellow passengers.

After settling into my charming pink-walled apartment in Old Town, I set about exploring this city’s fascinating ballet scene. Now, you know how much I love ballet, and I was thrilled to discover the Czech National Ballet performing the classic "Swan Lake" at the National Theatre.

The theatre itself is a magnificent sight, all grand pillars and ornate chandeliers. I felt like I had stepped into a fairy tale! My tutus never looked so fabulous as they did when I walked into that magnificent foyer, and the sound of the music as I waited in anticipation… pure magic!

Speaking of my tutu choices, I went for my vintage "Parisienne" creation for this particular night. You know, the one with the tiny silk bows and the tulle that shimmers under the stage lights. Oh, how I love this tutu! I think the ballerina herself would be proud of me, wouldn't you?

The performance itself was utterly breathtaking! From the moment the orchestra started their overture, I was completely swept away. The ballerinas moved like ethereal creatures, their movements fluid and expressive, the entire spectacle captivating. You see, the Czech National Ballet really embraces the romantic aspects of ballet, making it almost magical to watch.

*And on the topic of magic, you know that I adore anything vintage. *

And this brought me to my exploration of Prague’s amazing antique stores. Oh, the delights! You know I had to pick up some beautiful vintage accessories for my tutu collection.

The antique market on Charles Bridge was pure joy. Every stall I passed was a treasure trove of delights, vintage brooches, exquisite pearl necklaces and old porcelain dolls! I spent an afternoon amidst the treasures, my tutu skirt twirling with each turn as I excitedly examined each beautiful object. The final touch, though, came in the form of a small antique pocket watch adorned with tiny pink enamel roses! It looks absolutely adorable tucked into the waistband of my Parisian tutu. Now, who needs time when you’re surrounded by such magic?

After my whirlwind day, I treated myself to a well-deserved dinner at a lovely little café near my apartment. Prague is so full of hidden gems! This one was particularly charming, with soft candlelight and the gentle sound of jazz playing in the background. It felt like the perfect way to end a magical day.

Speaking of food, Czech cuisine is simply delicious. Imagine: dumplings bursting with rich flavour, creamy mushroom soup that warms you to the core, and traditional Prague ham served with sauerkraut! Yum! It was truly the perfect comfort food for a cold January evening.

After my delicious dinner, I headed back to my little pink apartment, my thoughts swirling with the memories of the ballet, the antiques, the magical city itself. This is, indeed, a city that knows how to embrace dreams!

And, you know me! Whenever I encounter such loveliness, I feel inspired. The beautiful cobblestone streets of Prague, the music that fills the air, the twinkling lights at night - everything inspires me to create! As you know, my muse, darling readers, is fashion, so this has given me several ideas for new tutu designs. I’m already planning to create a beautiful new collection inspired by the magic of Prague. It will be all lace and delicate details, like the architecture here, and full of a gentle Bohemian feel. Can’t wait to share it with you!

This week is jam-packed with more explorations, more beautiful discoveries and maybe even some ballet classes! And you know, I wouldn't have it any other way. It is, after all, a tutu-ful life!

Remember, darling readers, there is a pink tutu for every occasion! So go forth, be bold and embrace the magic!

Until next Wednesday, stay fabulous,

Emma
