Hello lovelies! 💖 It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-clad blogger, writing to you live from the heart of Prague, the city of a thousand spires! It's Wednesday, so that means it's time for my weekly Prague blog post. As always, grab a cuppa (or maybe even a glass of Czech wine, because we're fancy here), sit back, and get ready to be swept away by the magic of Prague and its fabulous tutu-worthy experiences.
This week has been a whirlwind of tulle, train journeys, and fairytale architecture! I landed in Prague just last night, after an overnight train ride from Berlin - travelling by train is so chic! The gentle rhythm of the tracks is actually surprisingly calming, perfect for getting a good night's sleep in your comfy compartment. And of course, I couldn't travel without my trusty pink tutu packed, ready to embrace this stunning new city!
Prague is truly enchanting. Its cobbled streets, winding alleyways, and impossibly ornate buildings are straight out of a storybook. And then there's the river Vltava - with its beautiful bridges and swan-filled waters. Honestly, it’s the perfect backdrop for my favourite tutu moments! 😉
Of course, I can't just wander around and admire the architecture. There's ballet to be seen! Tonight, I'm excited to be attending the "Pink Tutus of Prague" ballet performance, hosted in the majestic National Theatre. This show is renowned for its vibrant pink costumes and beautiful, captivating choreography, a tutu dream come true! 🩰 It features a specially curated performance from Prague's National Ballet, exploring the rich history of ballet with a playful and whimsical twist. Can't wait to see how they interpret ballet classics with their own modern spin - fingers crossed for some elegant pirouettes in sparkly tutus! ✨
I've also already spotted a charming little vintage clothing store in the heart of the Old Town. Can you imagine a little vintage pink tutu treasure hiding inside? I may just have to make a detour before the ballet, and explore the local fashion scene! 💖
Prague's old town has a special, timeless quality to it. Stepping onto its streets, I feel like I've stepped into a classic ballet film, filled with elegant silhouettes, swirling tutus, and intricate costumes. There’s an almost ballet-like elegance and grace about the whole city. The history and architecture really resonate with me. I find myself drawn to all of the old churches, cathedrals, and fairytale castles, all of which are adorned with stunning gothic features and ornate detailing. There's just so much inspiration to be found in these spaces! And every corner you turn brings a fresh perspective, just like the twists and turns of a ballet choreography!
Speaking of inspiration, it’s been hard to resist the city’s allure and charming cafés. My first day here involved a morning spent sipping espresso and enjoying the classic Czech pastry called a 'kolache', all while surrounded by the most intricate and fascinating architectural details. This city just whispers of beauty and history at every turn. And when I'm surrounded by such inspiration, you know I'm in my element! 💕
Don't worry, though, this isn’t all about me. This is your little slice of pink tutu magic too, my dearest readers! Every week, I aim to bring a little bit of that sparkle into your life through this blog, as I travel the world, explore beautiful cities, and, of course, share all my ballet adventures with you. 😉
Remember, my travels are funded by the grace of dance itself. I perform ballet in Derbyshire where I live, as well as various local towns and villages throughout the UK, and use those earnings to make my ballet-inspired travel dreams a reality. It’s the tutu dream – and I wouldn’t have it any other way! 💕
