Hello lovelies! Welcome back to Pink Tutu Prague, my weekly diary of adventures in this magical city. The cobbled streets are glittering with Christmas lights, and a crisp winter air swirls with the aroma of roasted chestnuts. It's a truly enchanting time to be in Prague!
Now, where to even start? This past week has been a whirlwind of ballet, beauty and Bohemian delights.
First things first - I must tell you about the incredible performance I saw at the National Theatre on Sunday evening. āSwan Lake" - the ultimate romantic ballet - is one of my absolute favourites, and it was even more beautiful here in Prague! The music, the costumes, the elegant dancers, the soaring, intricate choreographyā¦ it took my breath away. My darling pink tutu, (this time a blush pink with shimmering silver sequins - so glamorous, don't you think?) was the perfect compliment to the grandeur of the performance. And honestly, can anyone resist the delicate elegance of a ballerina in a swan costume? Swans, pink tutus, and the shimmering stageā¦ is there anything more graceful?
This theatre, nestled on the banks of the Vltava River, is not just a place for artistic brilliance - it's a historic jewel! From its romantic history of love and laughter, to the legends whispered through the walls, this beautiful theatre evokes an era of exquisite grace. And yes, it's even prettier with my pink tutu. It truly does complement anything and everything!
Ballet: A Timeless Romance
Speaking of beauty, there was nothing more beautiful this week than a long train ride across the stunning Czech countryside. Lush forests and rolling hills turned into dramatic landscapes, while I gazed through the window, sketching my dreams in my ballet journal (complete with sparkly pink cover - how could it be otherwise?) And honestly, whatās more charming than being swept away on a romantic journey across Europe? A train, some poetry, some dreams, and maybe, just maybe, a bit of Pink Tutu magic?
Arriving at my destination, a delightful village hidden away in the rolling hills, I stumbled upon a tiny antique shop filled with forgotten treasures. You'll never believe this... it had a genuine vintage pink tutu tucked away in the corner! (It looked a bit faded now, but oh my, imagine the stories it could tell! Maybe it even belonged to a ballerina during the gilded age!)
Of course, I had to purchase it! And guess what? My new, vintage pink tutu found a perfect home, hanging in the salon window of a wonderfully chic vintage shop I found in Prague. We call it āLe Ballet Roseā. It was almost as if destiny had orchestrated the entire experienceā¦
I really do believe everything happens for a reason, darling! And the perfect outfit just fell into my lap this week! You wouldn't believe what I found at the most glamorous boutique here in Prague... a *brand new pink satin skirt! *
Naturally, the very next morning, I headed out in the sunshine to do what any ballerina would do. *Twirling in the park, a little morning ballet practice, and enjoying the beautiful scenery. And who doesnāt look elegant in a pink satin skirt while twirling on cobbled pavements? Itās all about embracing your inner grace, lovelies, and twirling away your worries. And whatās better than wearing pink while doing it!
It felt divine. And so perfect. Like I was the star of my very own ballet production! It even matched my rose quartz ballerina bag and my pink ballet shoes (because of course, you never travel without pink ballet shoes.)
My Pink Tutu Lifestyle: A Love Story with Prague
In fact, the beauty of Prague, from its stunning architecture to the incredible history - and let's not forget the charming locals - is truly breathtaking. The atmosphere here in Prague, itās all about graceful living, embracing your inner sparkle and a whole lot of " joie de vivre!" The bohemian spirit is evident in every cobblestone, and it's simply infectious!
So what else have I been up to? Iām in my second week in Prague, and my schedule is so busy. But of course, that's the life of a travelling ballerina! Iāve managed to explore a beautiful Art Deco cinema while watching a fabulous art nouveau film, "Anya's Got A Planā, And this week, I saw the stunning, the vibrant, āThe Story of Dance" show at the Charles Bridge.
And now, in typical Emma fashion, let's go shopping!
Finding my Style: From Vintage Prague to Designer Elegance
Prague is a shopaholic's paradise, a veritable fashion wonderland! Iām delighted with all the fabulous boutiques and vintage shops, full of treasures that sparkle.
I discovered the most charming vintage dress store, right in the heart of Prague ... And imagine my surprise when I discovered it was home to some absolutely fantastic pink outfits! My personal favourite - a feather boa with pink tassels! Of course I had to snag it! It looks *sooooooo glamorous against a backdrop of those magical fairytale-like bridges and historic squares in Prague, you wouldn't believe it!
My next stop was one of my favourite spots, the gorgeous shop, "Little Pink Boutique", nestled in the Old Town. The boutique sells exquisite pieces - all *in shades of pink and I walked out with a whole bag of beautiful pale pink jewellery. And what better accessory than a matching pink purse for those magical evenings here? My dear ballet friends, letās embrace the power of pink!
Of course, I couldn't resist visiting Prague's most fabulous designer store, *āThe Roseā, filled with breathtaking gowns. And you know what, the moment I stepped inside, I knew it was where Iād find the most extraordinary pink sequined ball gown! * It's going to be *my dream tutu-fied outfit, for my next magical ballet gala event. Iāll be posting all the pictures soon! (You just wait and see, my dears!)
And finally, for all my darling lovelies who have a weakness for all things pretty - like me - I canāt forget my secret shopping haven, āLe Moulin Rougeā ā a glorious wonderland tucked away in one of those quaint little courtyards. My, it's stuffed to the brim with everything you need for a romantic pink ballet-themed night in. Think pretty teacups, lace nightgowns and fluffy ballerina-themed teddy bears (And of course, a dazzling pink ballet tutu dress for the very special lady in your life!)
Prague, my darling... where my heart resides. And whatās the only thing better than dancing with you? Twirling in my Pink Tutu!
