Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballet-Filled Journey! 🩰✨

Hello my darling tutu-loving friends! 👋 It’s Emma here, back from Prague and absolutely brimming with inspiration! This week's adventure was an absolute dream – think cobbled streets, charming cafes, breathtaking architecture, and, of course, some truly captivating ballet! This is Prague blog post number 1374 and as always I’m writing it from my trusty pink laptop. 😉

This week’s blog is a special one – a trip that started on the 6th of October 2021, and brought together all my passions: ballet, travel, and, well, pink tutus of course!

Let's travel back in time…

A Derbyshire Girl's Ballet Dream Takes Flight ✈️

I was actually in Derbyshire this time last year, getting ready for the local ballet competition, Derbyshire Dance Extravaganza, where I, you know, came first in the classical and the contemporary section, just saying! Honestly though, as lovely as it is to be a hometown girl, nothing beats hopping on a train (you’ll find me practically living at Euston these days) and heading off to a new city for some serious ballet fun!

This time I chose the fabulous Prague! 🇨🇿

Reaching Prague - In Pink of Course 💅

The journey was so relaxing, even in peak hour London, because I found the most adorable pastel pink suitcase at Harrods the week before. 🤫 You can imagine my excitement to take it to Prague, I just knew it would blend in perfectly with the city’s charming pink architecture – talk about picture perfect! 📸

It felt like my luggage was saying “hello Prague, I'm coming to dance and shop!” Don't worry, I was wearing my best travel tutu, naturally! (Pink, and ruffled to the max) 💖

A Ballet Boutique Bonanza 🛍️

I made it to the hotel just in time to head straight out to explore the city. The thing is, my travel bag was already way too full of my favourite pink sparkly outfits and ballerinas shoes! But then, wouldn’t you know it, Prague was even more alluring to my shopping urges! My favourite vintage ballet shop on Celetná Street was simply calling my name.

You can’t even imagine my joy – I got to try on every vintage tutu in the place, and, spoiler alert, my suitcase was practically bursting with pink! 😉

Prague: A Ballet Wonderland 🏰

Now, as lovely as Prague is (hello, medieval castles!), for me, this was always going to be a trip all about ballet. So, the highlight for me had to be a performance at the beautiful Estates Theatre! It's considered to be one of the oldest in the world, and I must say it completely lived up to the hype. The chandeliers glittered like a thousand tiny stars, and the atmosphere was just magical! ✨

This time around, it was the National Theatre which captured my heart, with the beautiful, dramatic scenery, the dancers' graceful moves and their expressions that literally made my jaw drop. 🤯 It truly is like walking into a dream world. This isn’t just a performance, it's a true story being told with each movement.

Speaking of the performance – I was in awe of the skill of the ballerinas! I'd love to say I just watched in relaxed bliss, but as you can imagine I’m practically studying the whole performance, mentally deconstructing how I could replicate it myself. It’s all about the tutus, the posture, and that ethereal, elegant flow – It's inspiring! And yes, there were tutus everywhere - what more could you ask for? 🤩

Beyond Ballet: Finding Inspiration in the City of Prague

Even when I wasn’t at a ballet performance, I found myself constantly inspired by the city’s atmosphere! One of the most beautiful parts of the trip was getting a little lost in the maze of little streets – especially the cafes! I am obsessed with anything to do with cake – especially pastries and chocolate - I had the most delicious pastries (all pink!) with the most divine hot chocolate and of course a cup of strong black coffee. ☕️ I had to stop myself from making a return trip to the coffee shop, it’s only because my ballet tutu and pink sequined bag was way too full! 👜

I can't get enough of exploring Prague's enchanting squares. The charming architecture, the buzzing market stalls, the breathtaking historical churches! It's impossible not to be mesmerized by this beautiful city. There's truly something for everyone in this city, from museums with breathtaking historical treasures to contemporary art galleries filled with colour. 🎨

Oh, and of course, I couldn’t possibly resist taking a beautiful walk along the Charles Bridge. A truly enchanting, fairy tale like bridge! 🥰

Taking Prague Home 🏡

After a few magical days of ballet and exploring the magical cobbled streets of Prague, it was time to pack my (completely bursting) pink suitcase. 👛 I truly feel like this trip has infused me with new inspiration - not just in ballet, but in fashion too! The beauty of the city, the colours and the textures have left me feeling invigorated, and full of ideas.

Ballet Dreams and Tutu Dreams - Together! 💖🩰

Honestly, if there is a place that truly has the power to bring all your dreams together – it has to be Prague. ✨ Between the beautiful ballet performances, the captivating architecture and that unmistakable sense of charm – I came away feeling inspired to continue my ballet journey, and, most importantly, continue sharing my love of pink with everyone! 💖

So, what’s next for Emma in the pink tutu? Stay tuned! It's on to the next ballet performance (probably a Swan Lake production), followed by a few new performances and then I’ll be off to a new city – I can't wait to share that adventure with you! 👋

Don't forget, check out my latest post every Wednesday on www.pink-tutu.com. Let's keep spreading the love for pink tutus, ballet and travelling! ❤️

Until next time, stay sparkling!
