Prague Calling! Pink Tutu Adventures in the City of a Hundred Spires (Blog Post #1501)

Hello my lovely tutu-ettes! It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu blog post - this time from the utterly magical city of Prague! I can practically hear you all gasp!

Now, I know what you're thinking. "Emma, Prague? Is that, like, old?" And yes, Prague is steeped in history. But hear me out, darling! It's not old like, say, an antique shoebox. It's old like a grand, romantic, slightly eccentric grandmother - full of charm, hidden nooks, and whispered secrets. And you know how much I adore anything vintage!

Anyway, let me tell you all about it, from the second I stepped off the train (always a favourite way to travel – hello, romantic train journeys!). I'm sure you've all seen those pictures - the stunning Charles Bridge, the majestic Prague Castle, the twinkling lights reflecting in the Vltava River… Oh, it truly is a feast for the eyes, and I was ready to devour it all!

First, let's talk about the outfit, shall we? What would a tutu-loving adventurer wear in Prague? Well, it couldn't be anything less than this: a vintage, blush pink tutu, layered with a soft lilac lace blouse (the perfect touch of old-world charm, wouldn't you say?) paired with my favourite chunky, patent leather platform boots. You know I love my contrast! My accessories? A pink enamel brooch with a miniature Prague castle – the perfect touch of local flair. (Found it in a charming antique shop tucked away in a cobbled side street, naturally).

Right then! Before I embark on this sartorial masterpiece, I've got a treat for you! As you know, I'm all about the ballet. It just happens that tonight, the world-renowned National Theatre Ballet is performing Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake". I just adore Tchaikovsky's music! Now, if I'm lucky, I might even be able to squeeze in some ballet class at the Prague Dance Centre while I'm here. Can you imagine, dancing under a stunning vaulted ceiling in a building centuries old? I'm practically pirouetting with excitement already!

Speaking of ballet, did you know the most amazing thing about Prague? It actually has a ballet history dating back to the 16th century! Apparently, it was all the rage then! Talk about being ahead of the curve, right? Makes me think, maybe that vintage shop I went to, it had a ballet past… Now that would be something to blog about!

Of course, I can't be all about ballet. A trip to Prague would be remiss without delving into the rich culinary scene, particularly those delicious Czech pastries! There's something magical about stepping into a bakery, surrounded by the scent of cinnamon and sugared almonds. Makes you want to wear a tutu just a little more fluffy. (Yes, I have my eye on a delicate pistachio pastry topped with sugared plums, I'm afraid.)

Then, of course, there's the shopping. Prague has an endless selection of bohemian boutiques, vintage stores, and hidden antique gems. The perfect combination for a girl with a love for fashion! And of course, any self-respecting ballerina knows a perfect tutu demands a perfect outfit. I'm already envisioning myself strutting through the Old Town Square in my ballet-inspired ensemble… and maybe picking up a vintage broach for a fellow tutu-ette back home!

Speaking of back home, I just wanted to send a quick shout out to my darling Derbyshire family! This pink-tutu adventure is all thanks to my latest ballet performance! It's a truly fulfilling feeling, knowing that my love for dancing not only keeps me moving but allows me to travel to extraordinary places. And to inspire others, of course!

Don't forget, darlings! I post every Wednesday at www.pink-tutu.com, so tune in next week for more Prague delights, and if you're a tutu-lover like me, get out there and show the world your style! Until then, keep twirling!

Love,

Emma

P.S. My blog has taken a little turn toward my life as a traveling ballerina. How does this sound to you? Do you think I should do a post or a blog series of the stories behind my ballet adventures and how it helps fund my pink tutu travels? Maybe an itinerary and what you would need to know for each destination!
