Pink Tutu Prague: Post 1515 - Ballet, Bubbles, and Bohemian Bliss!

Hello darlings! Emma here, your very own pink tutu-clad travel guide, bringing you a taste of Prague, the City of a Hundred Spires! Iā€™ve just disembarked from the train (the plush velvet seats made the journey positively decadent, naturally) and let me tell you, the charm of this city is justā€¦ swoon. Think cobblestone streets, whimsical architecture, and an atmosphere that whispers stories of romance and artistic passion. Oh, and did I mention the beautiful pink roses blooming everywhere? My heart just fluttered like a prima ballerina taking her first bow!

This weekā€™s post is all about ballet, and you bet your bottom tulle that I've already booked tickets for a show at the glorious National Theatre.

But first, let's explore the fascinating ballet history of this enchanting city. Did you know that Prague boasts one of the oldest ballet traditions in Europe, dating back to the 16th century? Itā€™s said that ballet first appeared here in the court of the Habsburgs, who, just like me, had an exquisite taste for the dramatic and the flamboyant. Imagine, centuries ago, dancers graced these very streets in beautiful, shimmering costumes, twirling under glittering chandeliers!

Speaking of costumes, how divine are the tutus here? Thereā€™s a charming shop I found on my explorations that's positively bursting with tulle and ribbons ā€“ oh, the possibilities! The craftsmanship is just divine, with so many exquisite styles to choose from. You can imagine me doing my best pirouettes in front of the mirror, my imagination swirling as fast as my skirts!

Before I hit the shops (because a girlā€™s gotta stay hydrated, and letā€™s be honest, what better hydration is there than a little bubbly?) I just had to indulge in the Czech art scene. I found myself captivated by the exquisite artwork in the National Gallery, where the stories told through brushstrokes danced before my eyes. Then, a delightful cafe, full of the delicious aroma of coffee and cinnamon, offered me a delectable pastry. So much inspiration, all bundled into one beautiful day!

Speaking of delicious pastriesā€¦ darling, do you know that the Czechs have a tradition of "Svatba v cervena barve," meaning ā€œred dress wedding?ā€ Itā€™s truly a fascinating tradition where the bride, quite unexpectedly, wears a stunning scarlet red dress. Just like with my own love of the pink tutu, the brides, and by extension their wedding parties, take their color of choice with such panache, embracing the unique beauty and drama.

Later this week, Iā€™m making my way to the NĆ”rodnĆ divadlo to watch the National Theatre's stunning production of "The Sleeping Beauty". You know how much I adore the classic ballets, especially with their dazzling tutus, intricate costumes, and of course, the iconic music. If it wasn't for the exquisite and majestic performance of "The Sleeping Beauty," I wouldn't have discovered my passion for classical ballet.

And speaking of passion, Prague is just the most romantic city! With its enchanting atmosphere and winding alleys, it truly feels like you've stepped into a fairy tale. Maybe itā€™s the way the evening light casts long shadows across the cobblestones or the music drifting from the many charming street musiciansā€¦ whatever it is, I can feel my heart skipping a beat just as readily as the musicians.

While Prague boasts an abundance of beauty, I can't resist my own brand of ā€œPink Tutuā€ artistry. As you know, I'm a firm believer that every girl should feel like a princess, so Iā€™ve decided to bring a touch of pink tutu magic to the city.

Tomorrow, Iā€™m heading to the Charles Bridge, one of Pragueā€™s most famous landmarks. Itā€™s a beautiful pedestrian bridge where locals and tourists alike flock to take photos, indulge in the scenic views of the city, and maybe grab a quick, delicious hot dog. What better spot to surprise passersby with my Pink Tutu Performance? Iā€™m planning to choreograph a light, playful dance that incorporates the romantic charm of the bridge and its surroundings. And yes, Iā€™m bringing the pink tulle ā€“ a sprinkle of pink sparkle in a city overflowing with magic!

But thatā€™s not all! In true Pink Tutu fashion, I'm hosting a special ā€œPink Tutu Afternoon Tea Party.ā€ This is going to be the social event to attend. Just picture it: A dainty spread of cakes, macarons, and delicate finger sandwiches served with sparkling tea and, of course, a beautiful pink tutu or two (or twenty). Guests are more than welcome to join in for a whirl or two, for a truly pinktastic celebration. Donā€™t worry about being shy, darlings; a good bit of twirling never hurt anyone!

Until next week, my lovely readers! Remember to embrace your inner princess, find your own magic in everyday life, and always, always, wear pink!
