Pink Tutu Prague: A Whirlwind of Culture, Couture, and Couture! (Post #1567)

Hello darlings! It’s Emma here, reporting live from the whimsical, fairytale city of Prague. I’ve traded my Derbyshire fields for cobblestone streets and my usual pink tutu for a bewitching blush tulle number – more on that later!

This week’s adventure finds me in the heart of Europe, captivated by the city’s magic. I always get excited about a new location, and this trip feels like a scene straight out of a ballet – a grand stage set with towers, spires, and bridges that would make even the most seasoned ballerina gasp.

Before I dive into all things Prague, a little update from my ballet world: You guys know I love finding the perfect tutu. Well, last week, I scored a magnificent vintage piece at a charming shop in London. It’s a blush pink dream, shimmering with intricate embroidery and layers of tulle, and I'm planning on debuting it for a special performance tonight. 😉

Travelling in Style, Naturally

I arrived in Prague via the magic carpet… er, I mean, the high-speed train, of course! There's nothing quite like zipping across Europe with my trusty pink tutu bag and a good book – or two!

My love for train travel goes way beyond practicality; it's a delightful part of the journey. I even managed to sneak in a mini ballet practice session in the train carriage. Who needs the barre when you can hold on to the luggage racks, right? (Just don’t tell the conductor, please!).

Once in Prague, my chariot was, naturally, a horse-drawn carriage. Let's be honest, wouldn’t a Pink Tutu blogger travel any other way? It was truly enchanting; clopping through the city, with the wind blowing my hair, I felt like Cinderella arriving at the ball – minus the glass slippers, obviously.

A Parisian Ballet Ballet Inspiration: “La Bohème”

You know me – always searching for inspiration! This time, it came in the form of “La Bohème” at the stunning Opera National de Paris. The tragic story, the ethereal music, and the exquisite costumes just had me completely spellbound. The way the dancers portrayed the heartbreak, the passion, the joy – I could feel the emotions washing over me like waves.

This trip has already reignited my love for Parisian-inspired styles, especially for romantic, flowy tutus and vintage Parisian-chic accessories. Imagine – a ballet pink tulle skirt, a fitted black bodice with delicate lace, and a pair of statement ballet pumps! It's a vision of graceful Parisian beauty that has my creative juices flowing.

Prague's Dance Spirit: Exploring The Local Ballet Scene

Now, onto the reason why I’m in Prague, you say? This city pulsates with culture and, of course, has a vibrant ballet scene. This week, I’m seeing the "The Nutcracker" at the National Theatre, a classic tale with an all-new, jaw-dropping set design, just the sort of whimsical ballet to suit my whimsical pink tutu and all!

As if the grandeur of Prague’s architecture wasn’t enough, the performances themselves have taken my breath away. Seeing local dancers expressing their passion through movement – it’s utterly mesmerizing. And let's be honest, I can't wait to try a ballet class here too – perhaps at a place with a history!

Fashion Finds: The Bohemian Pink Palette

Speaking of fashion, Prague is an absolute paradise for shopping! The old town is crammed with shops bursting with local treasures and designers, making me think I have to move to the city! It is a perfect playground for someone who loves tutus! The colourful fabrics, the exquisite craftsmanship – it’s all an inspiration for a new tutu design.

While I'm keeping my eyes peeled for pink tutus, I'm also digging deep into the bohemian vibe of the city. Think leather jackets paired with flowy, feminine dresses and vintage jewellery, all tinged with shades of blush pink, of course! I found a stunning pink-hued vintage dress in a little shop tucked away on a narrow cobblestone street, complete with a delicate rose-gold brooch.

Prague’s Magical Ballet Heritage: Ballet Beyond the Curtain

Every time I visit a new city, I delve into its ballet heritage. The Prague ballet story is full of exciting twists! While Prague is a relatively small city in terms of its population, its impact on the art of ballet was enormous – even at the peak of communist rule. This is truly fascinating.

This Wednesday I'm planning a special ballet tour to delve into Prague’s hidden treasures, including some lesser-known ballet schools and historical studios. My itinerary already includes a ballet museum – where I imagine there is an original Tutu from the Ballet history, plus a vintage theatre with a captivating past!

### From Tutu Inspiration to Everyday Life: Pink Tutus Everywhere!

As always, I'm trying to find ways to integrate my love of ballet into my everyday life. So, Prague has been a perfect environment for embracing my love of the color pink in every sense of the word – it seems a blush coloured dress fits in with the Czech colour palette perfectly! And naturally, I'm on the hunt for a pink tutu-inspired outfit to wear to my first night at a Prague theatre. I’m picturing a pink tutu skirt paired with a stylish white shirt or black velvet top. This could be perfect for an evening out on the town or maybe even a picnic in one of Prague’s beautiful parks. It’s so easy to feel like a fairytale princess in Prague!

So, as you can see, dear readers, this Prague trip is a dream come true for a girl who loves all things pink and loves to twirl. I’ll be sure to update you all on my adventures next week. Until then, don’t forget to sprinkle a little magic and pink tutu magic into your lives, my darlings. I’ll be signing off from this gorgeous pink paradise, Prague! Au revoir, for now.

A Reminder of What is on 2025-06-18.

You know how I love a classic story? I'll be heading to The National Theatre in Prague, to see the timeless 'The Nutcracker'. It's an enchanting ballet that embodies all the wonder of the festive season – and what better way to celebrate than in my vintage pink tulle tutu! It's a bit like the "Cinderella's Tutu". I can't wait!

Stay tuned next Wednesday for all the exciting things happening in my ballet journey – I promise there’s much more to share about Prague, and what is planned for the rest of the trip. Oh! And, you might want to brush up on your tutu history for next week too!

With pink tutu love, Emma xx
