#PinkTutuPrague Ballet in Prague 2025-10-22

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu enthusiast, Emma, back with another fabulous travel blog! This week, I've touched down in the enchanting city of Prague, and I'm absolutely smitten! This magical city, with its cobbled streets, medieval architecture, and charming cafes, has already captured my heart. And best of all, I'm here for the #PinkTutuPrague Ballet Festival, an event I've been eagerly anticipating for months.

But before I get into the details of this glorious festival, let's catch up! I journeyed to Prague in style, naturally. First, a scenic train ride through the rolling Derbyshire countryside. (A train journey is the perfect opportunity for a quick outfit change! A fresh pair of tights, a perfectly ruffled tulle skirt, and of course, the ultimate pink tutu! Just picture it!) Then, once in Prague, I found myself a charming horse and carriage, a perfectly romantic mode of transport, you see, and so much more glamorous than a boring taxi! My steeds even enjoyed munching on sugar cubes whilst they waited patiently outside the Grand Hyatt Hotel! So much charm!

Prague, known for its beauty and artistry, has proved to be a dream destination for this ballet-mad girl. The city's streets are a tapestry of history and romance, the perfect setting for twirling and leaping in a pink tutu, of course.

Now, let's talk ballet! This week in Prague, it’s all about the #PinkTutuPrague Festival! Every day is bursting with ballet brilliance - from spectacular performances to master classes to talks and workshops exploring the history of this beautiful art form.

I’ve already had the most wonderful time! I started the festival with a fascinating lecture on the history of Czech ballet. Did you know that Prague has been a significant center for ballet since the 16th century? The National Theatre here, the very place I'll be seeing a performance later this week, has hosted ballet since the 18th century! Talk about history! It makes the tutu I’m wearing today feel even more glamorous!

Yesterday, I even had a go myself in a ballet class in a beautifully restored theatre space - let's just say I was much better at the posing and twirling than the jetés! (And thankfully the instructor is a true pink-tutu fan, too! She totally complemented my ballet skirt!)

This weekend, the #PinkTutuPrague Festival is hosting its Gala event. The lineup? Oh, darling! We're talking a world-class performance showcasing a blend of classic ballets like Swan Lake, a show that truly inspires me (though sadly not my ballet technique!), and captivating modern pieces. Can't wait! And guess what? The whole thing will be a symphony of vibrant colors and expressive movement, so there's absolutely no excuse for not donning your best tutu! I mean, how can you miss the opportunity to create some stunning ballet-inspired looks for Instagram!

Speaking of inspiration, I simply had to share this delicious inspiration with you all - I've discovered some charming shops in the Old Town where I've been browsing for new tutus! And what a wonderland of sequins, lace, and silk it is! I even picked up the most beautiful tulle in a pale blush pink to create my own tutu, because a pink tutu a day keeps the worries away! You can even bet that I'll be wearing this new tutu to the Gala event on Saturday. And for my outfit, darling, you simply can't go wrong with a beautiful vintage silk gown in a gorgeous, deep burgundy to offset my new pink tutu. Simply perfection!

Of course, I couldn't resist treating myself to a luxurious lunch at a cafe that offers a delectable ballet-inspired menu - think macarons shaped like swans, rose-petal sandwiches, and exquisite lavender tea! They even served us each with a tiny tutu on our afternoon cake! Oh, the sweetness of life! I simply cannot get enough of this romantic city!

But wait, there’s more! I’m also keeping an eye out for the city’s street performances! I heard whispers of a fantastic ballet troupe who bring a touch of classic ballet to Prague's vibrant street scene. I just love watching how their dance brings a splash of graceful artistry to the heart of the city. I hear they sometimes even offer passersby a quick impromptu ballet lesson – that is truly magical, wouldn’t you agree?! I simply can't wait to capture a photo or two with my new, pink-hued tutu! And hey, you never know, perhaps they'll let me join in!

My goal is to encourage everyone, regardless of background, age, or skill level, to embrace their inner ballerina and join the world of tutus! Let's spread a little magic and colour into the world! Let's get everybody in a pink tutu!
