Prague: A Tutu-tastic Adventure! #1648

Hello, darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina, Emma, here, and I'm practically pirouetting with excitement to be back with you for this week's post. I'm in Prague, a city absolutely bursting with charm, cobblestone streets, and, you guessed it, fabulous ballet performances!

My trip began in a whirlwind of tulle and trains. I love train travel; there's something so romantic about settling into a comfy seat, watching the scenery flash by, and feeling that delightful anticipation of a new adventure. I must confess, I did choose my outfit very carefully, ensuring my pink tutu, with its cascade of shimmering pink sequins, took centre stage in the carriage. You've gotta admit, a dash of pink always brightens the day!

Upon arriving in Prague, I felt an immediate wave of inspiration wash over me. Every corner seemed to whisper tales of a rich history – from the iconic Charles Bridge with its stunning architecture and street performers to the beguiling Old Town Square. The air is thick with music, and even the pigeons seem to move with a graceful, almost ballet-like, rhythm.

But this wouldn't be a true Emma post without talking about my absolute obsession: ballet!

My itinerary in Prague was brimming with performances, and the one I'm most excited to share with you all is happening today – January 6th - the PinkTutuPrague ballet at the National Theatre.

This company has been the talk of the town since they exploded onto the Prague scene. With a penchant for contemporary dance, their shows are daring and utterly captivating. I've been itching to see what they have in store, and tonight, my dreams will finally come true. I can't wait to share my thoughts on their performance later!

Now, to dive into the history of Prague's ballet scene. Did you know it dates back centuries? You can practically feel the passion and legacy in every step the dancers take. Just strolling through the cobblestone streets, I imagine graceful ballerinas swirling in the grandeur of historic theatres like the Estates Theatre – where Mozart's “Don Giovanni” had its premiere!

But what good is a trip to Prague without a little retail therapy, right? I've found myself exploring some of the city's most fabulous boutiques and vintage stores, searching for the perfect addition to my tutu collection. From whimsical antique shops to trendy fashion outlets, Prague is a treasure trove for those who love unique style. I can't wait to show you all my loot in my next post!

It's fascinating how history and art intertwine in Prague. From the ornate buildings to the elegant costumes, everything here whispers tales of creativity and artistry. I've been feeling inspired to weave these elements into my own designs, and I can't wait to reveal the fruits of my labour with you soon!

Oh, and let's not forget the food! Every day is an explosion of flavour with fresh, authentic Czech cuisine. The goulash has me completely swooning, and the beer… well, let's just say the locals have a good reason for their renowned beer culture!

As the sun begins to set, casting an orange glow on the city, I'm feeling the thrill of adventure course through my veins. The aroma of roasted chestnuts mingles with the sound of accordion music, creating a truly magical atmosphere. Prague has truly captivated my heart with its unique blend of history, beauty, and artistry.

This trip has reminded me that there's something truly special about experiencing new cultures, soaking up new sights, and inspiring others to embrace their inner tutu-wearing ballerina! So, dear friends, whether you're twirling through Prague's cobblestone streets or enjoying the latest ballet production in your local theatre, I urge you to keep the spark of inspiration alive! Embrace your inner beauty, embrace your passions, and let the magic of dance, art, and style guide your way.

I can't wait to share more of my adventures from this incredible city next week, but for now, I'll be off to embrace the vibrant spirit of PinkTutuPrague – and, of course, don't forget to follow my blog for updates!

With love, Emma x
