Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballerina's Delight! (Post 1651)

Wednesday 27th January 2027

Good morning, darlings! Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-clad traveller, back from the magical city of Prague! Oh, this place has stolen my heart! It’s everything a fairytale city should be, with cobblestone streets, gothic spires, and a touch of whimsical charm sprinkled over everything like sugar on a donut! And did I mention the incredible food? Oh my! But before we dive into all that, let’s talk about the reason for my journey to this Bohemian paradise – a delightful little ballet extravaganza, a chance to be swept away by the beautiful storytelling through dance!

I travelled to Prague by train, a journey I'll treasure. I love those European trains, you know, the ones with the big picture windows for watching the world fly by! They’re perfect for catching up on the latest ballet reads – right now I'm glued to The Little Dancer – all about Edgar Degas's infamous bronze sculpture.

The Ballerina’s Prague

Prague is positively buzzing with art and culture. It’s not just the charming architecture (which I'm smitten with – seriously, you’ve never seen such beautifully preserved buildings) - but the vibrant energy and sense of history, it truly gets under your skin.

First things first, my lovely readers: Shopping. Now, if you've ever been to a shopping trip with me, you know I love a good rummage through the independent boutiques! I stumbled across this delightful little shop tucked away in a narrow street filled with antique stores. They had the most adorable collection of antique tutus! I couldn't resist, a vintage pink tulle number - it's now gracing my wardrobe back in Derbyshire!

Speaking of Derbyshire, it is amazing how many British artists have visited and been inspired by the Czech Republic - a few names are Elgar, Elwes, Debussy. Did you know Debussy dedicated a composition "Poissons d’or" ("Golden Fish") to the dancer Ida Rubinstein. Such fascinating historical and artistic links! I’m just so excited to bring all this information back to the readers of www.pink-tutu.com

Pink Tutu at the Theatre

I don’t know about you but I absolutely LOVE getting all dressed up for the theatre, you can never go wrong with pink! So naturally, I wore my favourite vintage pink tutu and matching satin pumps. Let me tell you, this ballet at the [Name of Theatre] theatre (and, yes, it was an impressive theatre) absolutely blew me away!

It was a re-telling of [Name of ballet] by [Name of choreographer]. This one was my favourite. It featured so much graceful and exciting movement that I literally had tears streaming down my face – it was so beautiful! The music was breathtaking too – just a perfect blend of classical and contemporary, all in a beautiful pink colour scheme that wouldn’t have looked out of place on my own stage in Derby.

Prague Food Adventures

Of course, no trip to Prague would be complete without indulging in the local delicacies! We started our day at [Name of restaurant], a cute little cafe known for their famous, beautifully coloured pastel pink gingerbread biscuits (seriously, these things are little edible works of art!) – you simply must try one when you come here!

We also savored some authentic Czech dishes at the legendary [Name of restaurant], nestled in a hidden courtyard. The roast pork with sauerkraut, the dumplings…Oh, everything just tasted incredible!

Pink Tutu on the Road

After the show, my heart was full and my tummy happy. I strolled back through the old town, my mind whirling with inspiration from the ballet. I bought a pair of beautifully embroidered ballet flats – in pink, naturally – for a cute Parisian girl with her nose stuck in a book about Marie Taglioni. You know, I think the pink tutu is catching on - my mission to get the whole world wearing a pink tutu is well and truly on its way to completion!

And here we are back at my hotel. Time for a little bubble bath with rose petals (because a girl needs pampering) and my notebook is brimming with ballet and Prague stories! Oh my darlings, my brain is swirling with inspiration for my next post!

Keep sparkling!

Emma
