Prague, darling, Prague! ?? Post #1652: Pink Tutu Adventures in the City of a Hundred Spires

Hello, my lovely tutu-loving friends! It’s Emma here, back from another fabulous trip, and this week, it's Prague, the city that's practically made for twirling!

This week, darling, is all about pink tutus and Prague! Think cobbled streets, glistening river views, stunning architecture, and the most beautiful, delicate ballet I've ever seen. This place is positively enchanting. ?

For those of you who haven't been here, Prague is like stepping straight into a fairytale. Think whimsical spires, picturesque bridges, and a history that feels almost palpable. You just want to get lost in the streets and wander down every alleyway, admiring the beauty all around you.

This trip was made even more special because it was for the "Pink Tutus for Everyone!" initiative - my mission to spread the joy of pink tutus around the world. And trust me, Prague is absolutely the place to wear your pink tutu with pride.

My journey started in Derbyshire, of course. I love leaving from my hometown. I’ve never seen a place as pretty and tranquil, it really sets you up for the day ahead. I'm a big fan of train travel, it's so romantic. And you can always find a quiet corner to admire the views, and slip into a twirling fantasy. The scenery is spectacular as we go across the country. Nothing can beat it, darling!

We arrived at Prague’s main station in the afternoon, ready to begin my adventure! And let me tell you, it was truly breathtaking! The city's architecture, a blend of gothic and baroque styles, was like something straight out of a painting. There's a vibrant energy in the air here, a joyous mix of modern and old.

We were welcomed to Prague with a delightful ride - yes, you guessed it, by pony! Imagine, trotting through the city with its enchanting architecture, a big, pink tutu trailing behind me, the sun on my face. The locals all stopped and watched in awe - who can resist a ballerina on a pony, dressed in the most glorious pink tutu?

The evening brought me to my first destination - the National Theatre! You know, darlings, ballet performance nights are the most magical! I love the way it makes you feel; you are a part of something special, a shared passion for the art form.

Now, before I start describing the show itself, let me give you a glimpse into the theatre! Talk about impressive! It’s like walking into a gilded palace with its magnificent architecture and grandeur. The velvet seats, the beautiful lighting – it was absolutely exquisite.

And then, the performance! It was truly a feast for the eyes! The dancers were sublime, every move so graceful and precise. There was such emotion in their dancing; they literally told a story without saying a word! I could feel every heartbreak, every joyful moment through their beautiful artistry. The choreography was mesmerizing; so full of life and imagination. I couldn’t take my eyes away!

But the highlight of the evening? The tutus! All shades of pink! From softest baby pink to a bright, almost shocking neon pink. Oh, they were just incredible! My fellow tutu lovers, trust me, it was a truly joyous spectacle.

We had a lovely walk along the Vltava river afterwards, and of course, a delicious dinner with views over the Charles Bridge. It's such a beautiful spot in the city - romantic and full of history. I've been told Prague has over a hundred bridges! Who wouldn’t want to explore them all!

Speaking of history, it's really exciting being in a place with so much historical significance. I'm definitely adding Prague to my "Pink Tutu Pilgrimage", and you should too! Who can resist a history of ballet intertwined with the romance of a place like Prague! It truly is inspiring to me as an artist. It makes me wonder about those who have been here before - those famous ballet stars - imagine, darling! Perhaps I’m seeing them dance across the floor before my very eyes.

Anyway, this place just felt like magic, every step I took.

The following day, darling, we visited the Prague Ballet Institute, one of the oldest and most respected ballet schools in all of Europe! Just stepping into that building felt so special, the atmosphere buzzed with passion and creativity. I wanted to sign up there and then!

Oh, and did you know? Prague’s ballet heritage dates back centuries! It’s absolutely fascinating! The institute holds workshops and training programs; they truly invest in cultivating the next generation of ballerinas. If you are thinking of travelling here for some ballet lessons, do let me know. I think it would be incredible!

We had some wonderful hours exploring the charming streets of Prague. You just can’t go past the cobbled alleyways; they're full of tiny shops filled with artisan crafts. Every little shop is so full of personality; from jewellery and art, to local delicacies. The perfect opportunity for some afternoon tea and a beautiful handmade silver tiara.

It’s also amazing to see how many people are already rocking pink tutus here! So much so, it has inspired me to make an exclusive Prague line of pink tutus! Think stunning beaded embellishments with Czech glass - beautiful, beautiful pink. It would be absolutely incredible and will be coming to the Pink Tutu online store very soon, so keep an eye out!

The second day ended with another ballet performance at the National Theatre. This time, it was “Swan Lake,” one of the classics! Every twirl, every jump felt so special. It's no wonder Swan Lake has such a timeless quality to it, you just never tire of its story! I love its blend of romanticism and drama, and it felt as perfect as it always does. I have seen Swan Lake many times, but somehow, the performances always manage to inspire me. Perhaps this time it was the breathtaking view of the Vltava river in the distance - as beautiful as the lake! It is true what they say, Prague really does give me an imaginative, fairy tale feeling.

On my third and final day, we strolled across the Charles Bridge. You just have to see it to understand the charm of this iconic bridge! So many artists and street performers line it, and you just have to be swept away by their music and energy. The city really comes alive at this point. It really feels as though every corner you turn leads to another amazing surprise.

And I can’t go to a new place without checking out the fashion scene! Prague is buzzing with interesting designers, and the boutique scene was bursting with color. There’s even a street with stores that specialize in ballet wear. I came away with the most incredible pink tutu skirt and an intricately designed necklace made from the finest Czech crystal. I absolutely fell in love with the style and charm. There is such incredible artistry on every street here.

My Prague trip was a whirlwind of fun, magic and, of course, pink tutus. If you're a tutu lover like me, Prague needs to be on your bucket list. You can't resist the romance, the historical magic and the amazing ballet heritage. Plus, Prague makes me think about a different type of ballet style - think of those medieval costumes, and the long skirts. The streets really feel like they’ve sprung from a fairytale.

The trip reminded me how much I love travelling and sharing my passion for pink tutus with the world. Every trip brings so much creativity and inspiration, so it's always great to be back!

Don’t forget to check in next week for my next post, which will be from my exciting next adventure!

Keep twirling! Emma ??
