Pink Tutu Prague: A Whirlwind of Beauty, Ballet and… Bread Rolls?

Hello darlings! It’s Emma, your pink-tutu-clad travel buddy, back with another week of sartorial delights, theatrical treasures, and oh-so-much Prague. Let's just say, I've been absolutely whirling around this city, taking in the sights, smells, and yes, the delicious Czech bread rolls (more on those later!).

This week, we’re all about the ballet. My dear friend, the one and only Vivienne, is performing in Prague with her ballet company. Now, Vivienne is like a little sister to me, with whom I've been pirouetting across countless stages and dance floors since we were both but tiny ballerinas. Seeing her dance in such a beautiful and historic setting was a dream come true!

Before we dive into the world of pirouettes and pointe shoes, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention my new arrival: my brand-new, blush-pink tulle tutu. It’s a delicate masterpiece, handcrafted in Prague with shimmering embroidery, just for me! You see, I firmly believe that every ballerina, whether professional or a Sunday morning student, deserves to feel like a fairytale princess. And when it comes to fulfilling my ultimate mission of getting the world dressed in pink tutus, a city like Prague, brimming with history and culture, is the perfect canvas.

A Touch of Prague’s Romantic Magic

This week, the city feels like a film set. It’s a kaleidoscope of gothic spires, cobbled lanes, and fairytale-esque bridges. Imagine swans gliding across turquoise waters, echoing the gentle melody of street musicians, as the scent of cinnamon and roasted nuts fills the air. It’s romantic, enchanting, and just plain fabulous! I could lose myself in the architectural tapestry for hours, marvelling at the intricate details, but as much as I love to stare, my schedule has been filled to the brim with ballet performances, fashion finds, and explorations.

A Whirl of Ballerina Bliss: The Performance

The ballet we attended was set in the stunning National Theatre, a majestic edifice right on the Vltava River. It felt almost impossible to not be swept away by the sheer beauty of the building and the incredible performance. I had the privilege of witnessing a world-renowned ballet company in full flight, gliding effortlessly across the stage like a beautiful dream.

Vivienne’s role, as a tragic heroine with a heart as pure as the first snowfall, brought the house down! The entire audience was spellbound by her grace and technical skill, and I must admit, I got a little tearful watching my dear friend steal the spotlight with such panache. It was an evening of absolute ballet bliss, one that I’ll cherish forever.

Afterward, Vivienne and I made our way to a charming little café near the theatre. We indulged in warm Czech pastries – my personal favourite? The cinnamon-spiced buns with cream cheese, served in a quaint little coffee shop by a group of men in lederhosen (it wouldn't be Prague without them, darling!). The night continued with stories, laughter, and whispered dreams over cups of herbal tea, which made it even more special.

Tutu-Worthy Shopping Adventures

Let’s talk about shopping! This city is a treasure trove of antique boutiques and unique shops bursting with Bohemian spirit. The vintage lace in this city? Unbelievable! The patterns, the colors! I even found some antique ballet shoes with delicate embroidery, perfect for a photoshoot or maybe even a vintage dance class. You see, vintage dance wear, whether it be an ornate tutus, a beautiful ballet skirt, or a set of lace gloves, is a part of history.

We discovered an exquisite collection of vintage dresses, embroidered linens, and antique jewels. My favourite discovery? A 1920s pink silk dress, tucked away in a dusty corner of an old atelier. It’s the perfect piece to add to my vintage collection, which, as you can probably imagine, is bursting at the seams with pretty pinks, silks, and of course, tutus.

Pink Tutu, Pink Panini: A Fashion-Forward Fiesta

Speaking of the color pink, darling, my colour of choice! The next day, I felt inspired. I decided to create my own Pink Tutu Prague street style fashion shoot, mixing a dash of Victorian charm, a touch of vintage ballet, and of course, the iconic pink tulle. You guessed it – the iconic blush-pink tutu was back, gracefully swirling as I sashayed around Prague’s charming cobbled lanes!

The pink tutu is such a wonderful way to brighten up any ensemble. A statement piece, a symbol of youthful spirit and boundless joy! The vibrant pinks in Prague reminded me of all the joyful colours in my own wardrobe.

My personal touch? A quirky pink bandana, a pair of oversized cat-eye sunglasses, and, of course, the blush-pink tutu. My camera captured the look in every location we found, each image capturing a vibrant burst of colour in the picturesque setting of Prague. I was delighted when a local shop owner offered us delicious homemade paninis (yes, they were pink!) after a lovely photo session. A delicious fusion of culinary delight and fashionable flair – what more could a girl ask for?

The Pink Tutu Pilgrimage

My quest to bring the world into pink tutus goes on! As we stroll through the ancient streets of Prague, we see everyone embracing colour in their outfits. But where are the tutus? There’s something truly empowering about wearing a pink tutu. It makes you feel graceful, free, and a bit more magical!

From elegant dancers to everyday heroes, it is my mission to encourage everyone to add a touch of pink to their lives. So, I ask you, dear readers, what’s your pink tutu moment? Do you have a piece of clothing or an accessory that brings you a sense of magic, of freedom, of pure joy?

Perhaps, if you take inspiration from my Prague escapade, you’ll be daring enough to embrace the tutus. The city inspires, you inspire me, and let’s all just enjoy a bit of whimsy and beauty on the way.

Onward and Upward (in my Pink Tutu, of course!)

Next week, I’m off on another exciting adventure. I’m heading to Vienna, to visit a century-old tutu museum, which houses some of the most spectacular, historic tutus from ballets all over the world. I am positively ecstatic. Can you imagine the tutus, darling!

Until next week, stay tuned for more fashion, ballet, and travels from a pink-tutu-clad dreamer!

And remember, in the words of my favourite quote:

“Pink is the colour of love, happiness, and of course, ballet! "
