Hello darlings! It’s Emma here, back with a brand new post from the magical city of Prague! This week, I’m positively giddy with excitement because I’m not only experiencing the stunning beauty of Prague, but I'm also getting to immerse myself in the incredible world of Czech ballet! It’s all so utterly delightful, and of course, I’ve got my pinkest, fluffiest tutu packed – wouldn't dream of going anywhere else!
Now, as you know, my travels are a bit unconventional. I don’t book flights, no sir! I prefer a more leisurely approach, so this time, I arrived in style – by train, of course. There's just something about the rhythmic chugging and the ever-changing scenery that fills me with inspiration. I spent the journey dreaming of twirling in the grand squares of Prague and picturing the gorgeous outfits I'd be snapping up in the city's boutiques. Oh, the possibilities!
Once I arrived, my pink tutu felt like it was perfectly in tune with the city's whimsical charm. Just imagine cobblestone streets lined with colourful buildings, spires reaching for the clouds, and charming bridges reflecting in the Vltava River. It truly is a fairytale city, and I just couldn't wait to explore every single nook and cranny!
The first order of business was, of course, a proper shopping spree. Prague's Old Town Square is a treasure trove of bohemian chic, and let me tell you, the vintage shops were just bursting with stylish gems! My wardrobe already boasts a glorious new coat with delicate lace details (it goes perfectly with my latest tulle creation!), some sparkly brooches to add a touch of glamour to my ballet ensembles, and a bewitching pair of pink suede boots. Let’s just say I was ready to unleash my inner ballerina with a little extra pizazz!
Speaking of ballet, Prague’s ballet scene is truly something else! My journey to this magical city was, of course, inspired by a legendary ballet production I couldn’t miss - The Nutcracker! Performed at the breathtaking National Theatre, it was pure enchantment. The opulent costumes, the dazzling choreography, the soaring melodies, it all had me swept away on a tide of pure balletic joy. I just loved seeing the story unfold through the expressive movements of the dancers - a true masterpiece of artistic brilliance!
But Prague's magic doesn’t stop with ballet, darlings! I’ve been having a whirlwind of fun exploring the city. I've taken a delightful horse-drawn carriage ride, the gentle clopping of hooves serenading me through Prague's charming streets. We even stopped by the Charles Bridge, the heart of Prague, and admired the magnificent views from its picturesque arches. I had to pose for photos in front of the iconic Astronomical Clock, too - the little mechanical figures come to life every hour and I simply had to be a part of the action! It truly is a marvel of history, right there in the city’s bustling heart.
And just because Prague's a fairytale doesn’t mean it lacks contemporary flair. The city is filled with art galleries and street performers who add to the vibrant energy. I even stumbled upon a fabulous open-air ballet performance in a stunning park - the city's beauty and the grace of the dancers truly intertwined to create a beautiful tableau!
Oh, and before I forget, one of the best things about Prague? The food! I’ve indulged in some truly delectable dishes – delicious goulash (my favourite, with a touch of sweetness from caraway), fluffy dumplings, and rich pastries. Every bite has been a symphony of flavour, and don't even get me started on the local beer – simply divine!
Prague has stolen a little piece of my heart, I truly can’t imagine a more enchanting city. I’ve felt so incredibly inspired, and I’ve been dancing my way through Prague like a princess, tutu and all! You’ll find a collection of my best Prague snaps on the @pinktutu.com website!
Of course, I couldn't leave without mentioning the amazing ballet performance at The National Theatre on February 24th. It's a chance to catch Sleeping Beauty, a classic ballet masterpiece that's sure to captivate your senses! With graceful choreography, exquisite costuming, and a magical storyline, it promises to be a magical evening of enchantment and balletic grace.
Remember, darlings, Prague is a haven for ballerinas. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and embrace your inner ballerina, be it with a pink tutu on a stroll through the historic streets or in the graceful moves at the city’s iconic ballet venues. Remember, even the smallest steps, in the pinkest of tutus, can take you to the most extraordinary destinations. And always, always, keep twirling!
Love,
Emma
P.S. Don’t forget to check back next Wednesday for a brand new post on my fabulous adventure in Vienna!
