Prague Pretty: Tutu Tales and Train Travels, Post 1658! ???

Hello, darlings! It's Emma, your resident pink tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed adventurer, back with a fresh post from the utterly enchanting city of Prague! This week, I'm practically bursting with excitement because it's finally time to delve into the vibrant world of ballet here in this beautiful city!

Train Travel, Tutu Chic

My journey started, as it always seems to, on a gloriously sunny morning in my Derbyshire home. With my trusty pink tutu packed, I headed to the station, feeling like a modern-day fairy princess ready to embark on a fairytale adventure! As I settled into my seat on the train, my heart began to flutter with anticipation for the cultural delights that awaited me in Prague. The journey itself was pure magic, the English countryside gliding past the window like a picturesque film reel. I even managed to squeeze in a little ballet practice in my seat - it's not easy, let me tell you!

A Pink Tutu's First Prague Steps

Arriving in Prague, the first thing that hit me was the breathtaking architecture, cobbled streets and that unmistakeable charming air that only comes with age-old European cities. But before I dived into the city's treasures, I had to check into my hotel! Let me tell you, I had high hopes, and it did not disappoint! With its pretty pastel tones and elegant décor, the hotel practically invited me to pirouette right into the lobby.

Pink Perfection: Fashion finds in Prague

But first things first, shopping! What is a trip to Europe without a little retail therapy? As soon as I set foot on the bustling streets, I spotted the most divine shop, crammed with the most exquisite selection of designer shoes and handbags! My heart fluttered with the kind of glee only a girl and her tutu can understand. I snagged myself the most gorgeous pair of pink stilettos and a chic handbag – just the perfect outfit companions for all my upcoming ballet adventures!

Ballet Adventures in the City of a Thousand Spires

Now, you all know my absolute weakness, so obviously, a visit to Prague wouldn't be complete without a visit to one of its legendary ballet theatres. Luckily, the date of my visit was a lucky one, because on the 17th of March, Prague was buzzing with a stunning rendition of Swan Lake, by the renowned Pink Tutu Prague Ballet company. What's more, the show was taking place in the grand and magnificent Prague National Theatre - the perfect setting for a captivating performance!

I arrived early to the theatre, my heart skipping a beat with excitement. After a lovely little pitstop at the theatre's cafe for some delightful Viennese pastries, I slipped on my sparkly pink ballet shoes and prepared for the magical spectacle about to unfold before me! It was everything I could have dreamed of: powerful movements, elegant costumes, breathtaking choreography, and a captivating story. The graceful movements of the dancers truly seemed to elevate them above the ordinary, carrying the audience away into the magical world of the swan princess and her love story.

But it wasn't just the dancing that stole my heart, it was the whole experience, the opulent theatre, the hushed anticipation of the crowd, the thrill of seeing something so beautiful and skillful. And don’t even get me started on the finale – I almost danced in my seat myself, that's how captivating it was.

Tutu History Lessons and Ballet Inspirations

And what would a ballet adventure in Prague be without some serious tutu history exploration? I simply couldn't resist a visit to the captivating Prague State Opera. Its stunning architecture and the intriguing history of the company’s origins left me totally awe-inspired. I just adore finding out how passionate about ballet and art they've always been in Prague. It's simply fascinating to me, how ballet's been a constant in so many of these beautiful European cities for so long!

After my cultural immersion, I couldn’t resist adding a little bit of my own flair. With a mischievous glint in my eye, I donned my pink tutu for a photo shoot, in the heart of Prague. Just imagine me, in my dazzling pink tutu, against the backdrop of Prague’s iconic buildings, the city's romantic spirit swirling around me! Let’s just say I made quite a splash!

Horse-Drawn Magic and Prague's Charm

After a whirlwind of culture, I treated myself to a charming journey through the cobbled streets in a horse-drawn carriage! The leisurely pace and gentle rocking of the carriage allowed me to truly soak up the beauty of Prague. The horses were just adorable, all shiny coats and elegant steps. And let's not forget the traditional horse-drawn carriage driver - he looked like he had stepped straight out of a fairytale with his long beard, tweed jacket and friendly smile. The driver told me fascinating facts about the city's history, which he imparted with great enthusiasm!

Ballet on the Streets of Prague

For a grand finale to my ballet-themed stay in Prague, I decided to experience ballet like never before! After spotting a vibrant performance in the heart of Prague's old town, I couldn't resist a spontaneous burst of street ballet - it was absolutely infectious! It was a beautiful scene – locals and tourists gathered around to watch as the dancers gracefully twirled through the square. My heart skipped a beat! I’m such a hopeless romantic.
