Hello lovelies! Emma here, your resident pink tutu enthusiast, and I'm thrilled to be bringing you this week's blog post from the magical city of Prague! This week, my travels have been a whirl of beautiful ballet, charming cobblestone streets, and oh, so many fabulous outfits.
Prague: A Ballerina's Paradise
It’s a known fact that a tutu-clad adventure in a fairytale city is simply perfect. From the moment I arrived, Prague felt like a dream – with its enchanting bridges, breathtaking architecture, and those quintessential narrow, winding streets, you truly feel like you’ve stepped onto a storybook page. The cobblestones under my ballerina shoes and the melodic echoes of Prague’s street musicians have made this trip so very special.
This week, Prague was awash with colour, vibrant with energy, and the most important thing – packed with ballet performances! So let’s delve into my ballet-tastic journey…
Tutu Tales: A Historical Journey
It’s no secret that I love delving into the history of the tutu – from its origins in the romantic era to its ever-evolving presence on the world’s stages. The Prague State Opera House, where I’ve seen a captivating rendition of Giselle, is a perfect place to get lost in this history. With its majestic architecture, it almost seems like a palace frozen in time. Just imagine the tutus that have graced its stage, the elegant moves they witnessed… Oh, to be a fly on the wall of history!
Shop 'til you drop: Prague's Fashion Finds
A ballerina’s journey wouldn’t be complete without indulging in some glorious fashion finds! And let me tell you, Prague has delivered in spades.
Firstly, a trip to the exquisite boutiques around Prague’s Old Town Square. There I discovered a charming little vintage shop overflowing with stunning retro pieces – think glamorous velvet dresses, beautifully patterned silk blouses, and playful headbands. My ballerina heart was aflutter.
Next up, a visit to the vibrant Parizska street – an iconic hub for fashion in Prague. I picked up a divine floral print skirt (because you can never have too many, right?) and a blush pink beret, just perfect for a ballerina strolling around this enchanting city.
A Ballerina's Day: Balancing Performance & Shopping
I’ve always believed in balancing ballet with a bit of indulgence, so the shopping expedition was followed by a very special ballet performance – Sleeping Beauty at the National Theatre. The performance was breathtaking, from the vibrant colours to the grace and precision of the dancers, it was a masterpiece of ballet. You could feel the love for the art form pouring from the stage, reaching the hearts of every audience member. It truly inspired me to push myself further, both in my dancing and in exploring the beauty of the world around me.
A Culinary Journey Through Prague
Every adventure needs its delicious meals! And I’m a big fan of indulging in local delicacies. This week, I’ve been captivated by the delicious Czech cuisine – rich, comforting and absolutely bursting with flavour. I savored traditional Czech goulash with a side of perfectly steamed dumplings (oh so good!) and treated myself to an unforgettable trdelník - a sweet, warm, and comforting treat I simply couldn't resist. And the beer? Let’s just say that every meal was the perfect blend of divine flavours.
The Power of Pink Tutus: Sharing My Passion with the World
I've met so many fascinating people this week, sharing my passion for ballet with whoever'll listen! The power of a pink tutu to inspire conversations, bring smiles, and connect people truly never ceases to amaze me. And every conversation, every joyful interaction makes me determined to inspire others to embrace their inner ballerina! Perhaps Prague’s magic lies not only in its captivating sights and sounds but also in its ability to inspire.
The Next Adventure Awaits: Until Next Week…
My time in Prague has been a whirlwind of inspiration – a testament to the enduring power of dance and the magical charm of a city brimming with history and beauty. My journey here is a reminder that ballet isn't just an art form, it’s a powerful expression of human creativity, passion, and joy – a powerful message that can transcend languages and cultural barriers.
And with that, my lovelies, I'm off to pack my bags (and of course, pack in a few more pink tutus!) as I bid adieu to this breathtaking city.
See you next Wednesday, as I share my new adventures on www.pink-tutu.com ! Until then, embrace the joy of dance, celebrate the beauty of pink tutus, and never, ever stop believing in the magic of ballet!
With much love and twirls,
Emma xo
