Bonjour, mon petit choux! It's Wednesday, and that means it's time for another installment of your favourite pink-tutu-filled travelogue, straight from the cobbled streets of Prague! This week, darling, I'm feeling extra glamorous - just wait till you hear about this week's adventures!
Firstly, my little fashionistas, you absolutely must know that the most incredible, most exquisite boutique just opened in Old Town Square. It's all pastel shades, with the most delicious selection of frilly blouses and - brace yourselves, darlings - a full wall dedicated to tutus. Yes, tutus. You heard me right. Tutus in every shade imaginable, from pale lavender to the most glorious shocking pink! I snagged myself a heavenly lilac number with delicate layers of tulle, it practically swishes as I walk, you can imagine the impact it'll make at my next ballet class!
Speaking of ballet class, darlings, I must tell you about the most wonderful discovery! Nestled in the heart of the Mala Strana district, just a hop, skip and jump from Charles Bridge, is the most charming little dance school. It's tucked away in a cobblestone courtyard, bathed in the warm glow of the afternoon sun, and the windows are draped with sheer white curtains - positively divine. I had a trial class, and let me tell you, my fellow dancers, it was absolutely magical. The teacher, a wisp of a woman with the most elegant bun and twinkling eyes, was like a fairy godmother come to life. We worked on our pliés and chassé steps to the sound of classical music playing softly in the background. I felt utterly transported, darling, like I was back in the golden age of ballet, twirling under a chandelier with all the grace and beauty of a real ballerina!
And now, the piece de résistance...the grand finale to this extraordinary week in Prague...the ballet, darling! Tonight, I'm off to see the Prague National Theatre’s production of Giselle. Imagine, dear reader, a romantic and heartbreaking story of a young peasant girl who falls for a nobleman in disguise, only to discover his true identity and meet a tragic fate. It’s set in a beautiful backdrop of traditional Czech landscapes and folk music, with costumes that will take your breath away - oh, the tutus!
But, before I leave, there's just one more thing I have to tell you about: the most adorable cafe, nestled amongst the fairytale buildings of Prague’s Lesser Town. It’s called "Tutu & Tiara," and it serves the most delicious homemade cakes, and a pot of fragrant tea alongside a cup of hot chocolate with real whipped cream. They even have a collection of pink tutus that customers can wear, darling! It's all about making a statement, and that, my fellow ballet fanatics, is my mantra.
So, darling, my love for ballet, tutus, travel, and fashion - it's all interwoven like the delicate threads of a silk ribbon. The ultimate goal is to spread the love of the pink tutu across the world! And what better place to spread that message than right here in the heart of Prague, a city steeped in beauty, romance, and yes, even a touch of whimsy!
Don't forget to check back next Wednesday for another instalment of "Pink Tutu Travels"!
Much love, Emma www.pink-tutu.com
