Prague: Pink Tutu Travels - Post #1676

Hello my darlings, and welcome to this week's post from yours truly, Emma! I'm currently buzzing from a fantastic ballet trip to Prague. It's hard to believe this enchanting city, brimming with history and architectural wonder, is only a hop, skip, and a train ride away from Derbyshire! The train journey was divine, actually, just the right amount of time to people-watch, sip a lovely cuppa and enjoy the changing landscape. It felt like something out of a classic movie, the gentle sway of the train, the picturesque villages, and me in my glorious pink tutu! You know, the one I call "My Parisian Dream" - such a statement piece.

Speaking of statement pieces, Prague truly has that wow-factor! The moment I arrived, I felt transported to a fairytale, with cobbled streets winding through centuries-old buildings, charming cafes spilling onto sunny squares, and, oh, the beautiful, whimsical bridges! You wouldn't believe how many photos I've taken - they'll be perfect for Instagram, wouldn't you agree? My darling followers are going to adore seeing these Parisian dream vibes - especially paired with my pink tulle dreams.

Shopping for my Ballet Wardrobe in Prague

My favourite thing about travelling is discovering new boutiques. Prague's Old Town has so many hidden treasures, from independent designers to high street finds! I was particularly smitten with the gorgeous vintage shop tucked away in a quiet side street. It's like a time capsule, packed with beautiful pieces from a bygone era - think billowing silk scarves, whimsical floral hats and lace-trimmed gloves!

Naturally, I snagged a few items that I knew would pair perfectly with my tutus. Can you imagine a soft pink tutu with a delicate floral scarf - a symphony of ethereal femininity? Divine, I say!

For shoes, though, I always head to a well-stocked shoe shop, and oh boy, Prague delivered! I found these beautiful red stilettoes with gold accents that made my heart sing! You wouldn't believe how much my pink tulle twirls came to life in these little gems - they're the perfect touch of boldness for my elegant style!

But enough about my purchases. Let's talk about ballet, my darlings!

A Delightful Ballet in the Czech Capital

The ballet performance I attended last night was simply stunning - "La Esmeralda" at the National Theatre. Now, if you haven't had the pleasure of seeing this ballet, I highly recommend you add it to your list. It tells the tragic tale of La Esmeralda, a beautiful Romani dancer, whose story is both captivating and heartbreaking! It's full of soaring emotions, impressive choreography, and those amazing sets and costumes, just pure magical realism.

It's important for me to share the amazing choreography by Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot, originally in 1844. To know this dance, with the lovely story and dramatic story telling, has been alive so long, was absolutely inspiring. But, like every show, we all had to start somewhere - even dancers.

Discovering Ballet Secrets in Prague

The highlight of my trip was a visit to the Prague City Ballet School, Such a treat to spend the day watching young dancers perfecting their leaps, twirls, and pliés. The ballet masters there have the utmost patience and care for their students, helping them blossom and build confidence in a truly wonderful atmosphere. Honestly, it made me want to revisit my own dance steps - there’s something so infectious about youthful energy!

I must say, they have a lot of talent at that school! I could almost see some future stars twinkling on stage. Just watching them move so gracefully reminded me of why I adore ballet, the way it can transform bodies and spirits into works of art. Oh, I almost forgot! I managed to slip in a few hours of practice at a lovely little dance studio downtown! That, along with some glorious hot chocolate by the river, made for a wonderfully refreshing day.

Speaking of refreshing, Prague has the most enchanting river - the Vltava. Imagine taking a romantic sunset cruise, admiring the beautiful views of Prague Castle and the Charles Bridge, all in my dreamy pink tulle - picture perfect! There is even a ballet street show! How absolutely wonderful are these performances for the whole city to enjoy. Every day a treat!

Prague's Enchanting Charm

The past few days in Prague have been truly enchanting, from the vibrant streets to the elegant performances, the fascinating architecture and the friendly locals! I've already made a promise to myself to return next year, for even more ballet adventures and shopping for beautiful new tutus!

And remember my darling readers: always embrace your inner ballerina. We are all unique, elegant creatures, just waiting for the perfect tutu to shine!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to enjoy some delicious local food with a glass of local wine. Until next Wednesday, darlings. I'll be sure to share some more Prague photos on my Instagram @Emma_PinkTutu. Do keep up with my journeys - I'd love to hear your thoughts!
