Hello, darling! ?
It's Emma here, reporting live from the absolutely enchanting city of Prague! As always, I'm in my favourite pink tutu, feeling as twirly and joyous as a ballerina on stage. The cobbled streets are calling to my tap shoes, and the grand architecture makes me feel like I've stepped into a fairytale ballet!
Travelling by Train (and Pony, Maybe?)
As you know, I'm a firm believer in slow travel - it allows for soaking up the atmosphere and spotting the little details that make each journey unique. I arrived in Prague last Friday after a truly delightful train journey. I loved watching the world roll by, enjoying a cheeky cuppa and people-watching in my usual comfy corner. ☕ The carriage was a riot of colour, from vibrant travel bags to charming hats – and of course, my tutu stood out as a beacon of bright pink positivity.
Speaking of colour, I'm considering bringing my trusty pony, Princess, with me on my next adventure. Just imagine: me, in a pink tutu, galloping across the Czech countryside! I'm working on the logistics, though getting her through customs might be a tad tricky. I'll keep you updated on the #PinkTutuPony project!
A Ballet Lover's Mecca
Now, let's get down to the real reason I'm in Prague – ballet! This city boasts a vibrant ballet scene, and the legendary National Theatre is just begging for a twirl in my pink tutu. On Friday, I had the pleasure of seeing "The Sleeping Beauty" performed by the Prague National Ballet – what a dream! The artistry and passion on stage left me speechless, and I'm already planning to catch more performances.
You know, there's something special about ballet that really resonates with me. It's a perfect blend of art, history, and human emotion. It speaks a universal language, connecting people from all walks of life. And what's more, ballet costumes are a visual feast - from romantic tutus to striking contemporary ensembles. Of course, any trip dedicated to ballet needs a bit of history! This week I found a fantastic exhibition on the evolution of ballet tutus. Did you know the earliest tutus were actually made with silk, but then transitioned to a softer, more ethereal tulle? It was fascinating to see the changing styles and the iconic costumes throughout history. And guess what – they had an entire section devoted to the rise of the pink tutu! I could've spent hours in that room alone.
Prague Street Performances: The Real Street Show
Prague is overflowing with street performances, each more charming than the last. The other day I was strolling through the Old Town Square when I came across a group of buskers dressed as clowns – they had me giggling in my seat! And just a couple of blocks away, a quartet of musicians were playing classical pieces that sent shivers down my spine. The vibrant atmosphere and the talented performers make walking through the streets of Prague an experience in itself!
The Fashion Scene
Now, any blog post wouldn't be complete without a nod to the latest fashion finds. Prague is a haven for vintage fashion lovers – I've spent hours scouring the shops and markets for hidden gems. From elegant dresses and flowing skirts to chunky shoes and quirky accessories, there's something for every fashionista in Prague. And let's not forget about the gorgeous pastel hues that have caught my eye – think mint green, blush pink, and soft lilac. These colors really complement my pink tutu, adding an extra touch of sweetness to my style.
A Feast for the Senses
My adventure in Prague has been a symphony of sights, sounds, and tastes. From the majestic Prague Castle to the enchanting Charles Bridge, there's an abundance of history and charm to soak up. And let's not forget about the delicious Czech cuisine! I'm enjoying hearty dumplings, flavourful roasted meats, and the infamous creamy "Trdelník". It's all a treat for the taste buds – especially paired with a steaming cup of strong, sweet coffee. ☕️
A Touch of Pink
Oh, I almost forgot! My little "Pink Tutu" mission here in Prague has been in full swing! I've had the absolute delight of seeing several ladies rocking pink tutus around the city, and even witnessed a street performer who incorporated pink into her colourful outfit. I’m telling you, pink is having a moment everywhere – in shops, on people, in art – and it fills my heart with joy.
