Hello, darling dears, and welcome back to Pink Tutu, your one-stop shop for all things twirling, pink, and fabulous! This week I'm back from the most magical trip to Prague, a city that truly stole my heart with its stunning architecture, cobbled streets, and the sheer abundance of pink tulle I managed to unearth!
Before I dive into the delights of Prague, though, a little news from Derbyshire. As you know, my beloved pink tutu wardrobe has been growing exponentially - I simply can't help myself, the call of a fresh, frilly creation is simply too much to resist. So, I've decided to host a Tutu Swap at the Derbyshire Arts Centre next month! All you need to do is bring a pink tutu you no longer wear and swap it for another gorgeous one. There will be music, bubbly, and a chance to twirl with fellow tutu enthusiasts, so please do RSVP on my website for details. It’s sure to be a fabulous afternoon of pink and frills!
Anyway, back to Prague! Now, anyone who knows me understands that travel is an essential part of my life, and a city like Prague simply calls to me. The history, the culture, the beautiful architecture, it's all just perfect for a Pink Tutu blogger, and I wouldn't have it any other way!
This trip, I decided to travel the old-fashioned way - by train. The journey from Derbyshire to Prague, with a stopover in beautiful Vienna, was nothing short of enchanting! The scenery flew by, my imagination soaring with every passing valley and rolling hills. Arriving at the Prague train station was like stepping back in time, with its stunning neo-Renaissance architecture and a feeling of anticipation in the air.
Speaking of enchanting, one of the highlights of my trip was experiencing the magnificent ballet scene in Prague. The ballet in Prague boasts a rich history dating back centuries, with the stunning National Theatre being a focal point for both national and international productions. It's quite remarkable, isn't it? The fusion of artistry and history in a city that literally embraces its past!
So, as the title of this blog post suggests, on 15th March, 2028, I had the honour of seeing the most dazzling ballet performance at the National Theatre, and it was absolutely magical. The choreography, the costumes, and the dedication of the dancers was simply captivating! I'm not going to spoil it for you, dear readers, because if you're a ballet enthusiast like myself, I strongly suggest putting Prague on your must-visit list!
Of course, no visit to Prague is complete without indulging in the city's rich culinary scene! My pink-hued travels took me to a string of charming cafes and bistros, where I enjoyed the most delightful pastries and the perfect cups of frothy cappuccino.
Oh, and the shopping! I mean, I wouldn’t be a true Pink Tutu girl if I didn't dedicate a chunk of my trip to searching for the perfect vintage lace for a new tutu creation, wouldn’t I? Prague, darling dears, is a vintage paradise. The charming boutiques on each corner hold a hidden treasure trove of unique pieces, and let me tell you, I wasn't disappointed. I found myself strolling through a stunning shop on a cobbled street, my fingers sifting through swathes of delicate lace - it was practically a dream! I even stumbled upon a fascinating antique shop brimming with old ballet costumes and dance shoes – it was like a time warp into the heart of ballet history.
But you know me, it's not just about the ballet and the shopping! There's something quite special about soaking up the local atmosphere, immersing myself in a city’s rhythm and exploring its secrets. Whether it’s finding hidden courtyards draped in vibrant flowers, catching the twinkling lights reflected in the Vltava River, or getting lost in the charming narrow alleys – every corner held a new, exciting surprise.
To help capture the spirit of this magnificent city, I’ve curated a series of delightful snaps for your viewing pleasure on my Instagram page. You can see photos of my new, tulle-tastic outfit that I just had to wear during the day - it’s a light pink ballet-inspired dress paired with delicate lace overlay, and finished with, well, what else, my trusty pink tutu. The compliments on the street? They practically rained down like pink confetti. I swear, I almost had a whole street dancing around me!
However, this enchanting city held one unexpected surprise for me: horses. Now, before you assume I’ve gone completely bonkers, let me explain. On a whim, I decided to book a carriage ride through the heart of Prague. I found a delightful company offering scenic tours with a touch of romance and elegance. The ride through Prague was incredible! And the horses, so well-mannered and elegant, absolutely charmed me. The owner, an enchanting woman with a smile as warm as her horses’ velvety coats, gave me an impromptu mini lesson on how to communicate with the horses. It turns out, they understand pink just as well as we do. Well, at least in the case of pink tutus. That’s the sort of thing you only discover in Prague!
Prague truly enchanted me, offering the perfect balance of historical charm, elegant atmosphere, and vibrant creativity. If you're ever in search of inspiration, love, laughter, or a really beautiful pink tutu, look no further than Prague!
So, as I sign off for this week, I leave you with a simple question: When will you be twirling into the world of pink tutus? It’s all about spreading the joy and embracing the fabulous.
Until next Wednesday, keep dancing, darling dears!
With love,
Emma
