Pink Tutu Prague: Ballet and Boutiques in the City of a Hundred Spires (Post #1743)

Hello lovelies! It's Wednesday, and you know what that means! Time for a new blog post from your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina! I'm currently nestled in the heart of Prague, a city that's absolutely overflowing with charm, cobblestone streets, and an air of enchanting history that sends shivers down your spine (in a good way, of course!).

This week has been a whirlwind of tutu-spinning adventures! I travelled here from Vienna on a grand, old-fashioned train – oh, the sheer romanticism of it! Imagine, plush red velvet seats, quaint little compartments, and a view of the countryside flashing by – a dream come true for a ballerina who loves to be whisked away on adventures! I actually snuck my pony, Priscilla, on the train with me – she wasn't thrilled about being in a confined space, but I managed to sweet talk her with a bag of sugar cubes and promises of delicious Prague horse treats!

I'm here for the National Theatre Ballet's incredible production of Swan Lake, and oh my goodness, let me tell you – this performance was absolutely magical! I couldn't believe my eyes. The costumes, the sets, the artistry – everything was breathtakingly beautiful! It truly showcased the strength and grace of classical ballet. I'm particularly fond of the ballet white tutu for Odette - they made it from feathery white tulle which is the highest quality tulle that's super luxurious and is actually my favourite fabric, it's like wearing a cloud. There is nothing I like better than seeing a perfectly made classical white tutu, although a pink one would have been incredible too, maybe in the third act! It was an evening of pure enchantment.

Tutu Time: Fashion in Prague

I always make it a point to visit the city's most exquisite fashion boutiques, and let me tell you, Prague doesn't disappoint. From vintage shops crammed with forgotten treasures to luxurious boutiques showcasing the latest trends, Prague's shopping scene is as diverse and captivating as the city itself.

And let's be honest, what could be more fitting for a ballerina like myself than a boutique called "The Ballerina's Closet"?! They have a stunning selection of pointe shoes, tutu's, leotards and everything in between - my pink tutus would look right at home in their store! You simply can't walk past a shop like that – it's a siren call, my dear readers!

I snagged a gorgeous new pair of ballet flats with a beautiful, blush-pink bow, and, of course, I picked up a handful of gorgeous tulle skirts – because, let's face it, tulle makes everything better, don't you think?

A Touch of Prague History

But beyond the fashion and the dance, Prague is brimming with captivating history, It's no wonder this beautiful city is known as "The City of a Hundred Spires"! Every corner, every bridge, every building seems to whisper tales of ancient times and bygone eras.

The most beautiful building in the city has to be the Old Town Hall with its famous astronomical clock – this masterpiece of time-keeping, adorned with moving figurines, is just magical! I actually stood mesmerized by its intricate mechanism, feeling like I'd been transported back to a medieval fairytale. Prague is simply bursting with fascinating historical details! I absolutely love seeing the iconic Charles Bridge, too! It's a beautiful walk across the Vltava river - definitely try it if you're here. And the stories the Prague Castle holds! You feel history radiating through the stone, I swear! I actually did a performance in the courtyard - I thought a little pink tutu would liven up the place.

I also got a chance to take a stroll down the picturesque Golden Lane - it is truly adorable with those charming little houses! And speaking of charming houses - The Dancing House with its fun architectural design! You can't miss this crazy, quirky and artistic building - its shape has been compared to everything from a couple dancing together, to a drunk man swaying on the street. They built a bridge over the city - the Charles Bridge. This city is definitely an amazing mix of ancient and modern design!

Pink Tutu Street Style

You can find me all over this charming city wearing pink, obviously - how could I be seen wearing anything else, especially in a city that is just screaming to be a beautiful canvas for a fashion icon? It's like Prague itself knows that pink is the most appropriate color to wear while dancing your way through a place as magnificent as this.

Let's take a look at my Prague pink tutu street style. I am sporting a beautifully embroidered pink tulle tutu that swirls so elegantly - it's an absolute vision in pink, don't you think? Of course, I had to pair it with my signature pink, pointy-toed ballerina flats that add a touch of delicate sophistication to my look! Oh, and did I mention the dazzling pink clutch I brought to match? It's like I’m bringing a piece of fairytale royalty wherever I go. It's a definite look for this ballerina!

Pink Tutu on the Pony!

Now I couldn't let a trip to a magical city like Prague end without a beautiful photo shoot with Priscilla - my pink tutu is as iconic as the Charles Bridge or the astronomical clock and she had to get into the spirit of the occasion! This stunning city, this incredible performance, these fashionable boutiques, and the most amazing photo shoot - what an adventure! This has to be the perfect way to say goodbye to the amazing City of a Hundred Spires. You can see our photo shoot in Prague on my Instagram feed (@pinktutu).
Until next week, darling readers! I promise to fill you in on more pink tutu adventures!

See you next Wednesday,

Emma
