Hello, my lovely tutu-wearing friends!
It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu enthusiast, and I'm absolutely thrilled to be in Prague, the City of a Hundred Spires! As you all know, I adore discovering new cities and immersing myself in their unique cultures. And when it comes to ballet, Prague is truly a hidden gem.
Now, let me paint you a picture. The sun is shining brightly over the Vltava River, casting shimmering reflections on the medieval buildings. A light breeze carries the scent of pastries and freshly brewed coffee – oh, how I love Prague! But first things first – a tutu needs to be perfectly pink for Prague. So, I hopped off the train (wearing, of course, a fabulously fluffy pink tutu and my trusty ballet bag, naturally) and headed straight to the Tutu & Toile shop. I just couldn’t resist the delightful, swirling pastel pink tulle. My new tutu was absolutely perfect.
Fashion Frenzy: Prague is a haven for fashion lovers, with its quirky boutiques and independent designers. Imagine rows upon rows of vintage treasures, handmade jewellery, and bohemian designs just begging to be admired. Of course, I had to browse the delightful Old Town Square, its cobbled streets adorned with stalls brimming with beautiful garments and accessories.
The next stop was the majestic National Theatre. It’s a masterpiece of architectural design and a treasure trove of dramatic history, with breathtaking performances in every style imaginable – drama, opera, and, you guessed it, ballet! The sheer scale of this building, and its intricate beauty are breathtaking. Imagine, the beautiful costumes, the delicate footwork of the dancers, the magical lighting that creates such captivating moods. It’s just enchanting, and I couldn’t resist a photo in front of the stunning entrance in my new pink tutu!
Prague's Ballet Heritage:
But Prague isn't just about beautiful buildings. This city boasts a rich ballet heritage that stretches back centuries! Imagine the grace of the court dancers performing in grand halls, their elaborate costumes swirling like blossoms in the air. A ballet in Prague is something to behold, with each move imbued with an elegance and spirit that speaks to the soul. I had to see a performance, obviously!
The National Ballet Company was performing Giselle tonight, and let me tell you, it was a whirlwind of passion, romance, and raw emotion. The dancers were sensational - their leaps were graceful and soaring, their footwork precise and expressive, and their costumes just added to the magic. And, I had to go on stage after the performance to congratulate the beautiful dancers in my favourite pink tutu. The audience applauded, which was a bit awkward because everyone’s eyes were on my fabulous tutu! But it’s all part of getting everyone to love pink tutus!
Tutu Delights:
I wouldn't be a true tutu aficionado if I didn’t indulge in a little tutu shopping. Prague's Design Museum was filled with intriguing displays, celebrating the artistry of dance from around the world. Of course, the tutu section was my favourite! There were historical examples, elegant contemporary designs, and whimsical interpretations – a tutu-lover's paradise! And you know what? I have to say, this is a pink-tutu-loving blogger's dream!
Horseback Adventures:
I had the most charming experience today! I joined a pony tour through the rolling hills of the Czech countryside. My chestnut pony, Daisy, and I trotted through fields bursting with wildflowers, with Prague's iconic spires peeking over the horizon. I even wore my tutu! There’s nothing more blissful than feeling the sun on your face, the gentle breeze in your hair, and the rhythmical thuds of a pony's hooves as you journey through picturesque landscapes.
Czech Delights:
What’s a trip to Prague without indulging in the city’s delicious cuisine? I’m in love with trdelník. It’s a cinnamon-sugar-coated pastry – perfect for a midday treat. I also adore the creamy richness of Czech dumplings (knedlíky), and the traditional roasted pork (vepřová pečení), a succulent meal enjoyed by the locals for generations! I even tried Czech beer in one of the many traditional pubs while wearing my new tutu (no, it didn't get a beer stain – my tutu’s too fabulous for that).
Pink Tutu Memories:
My visit to Prague has been magical! Exploring its enchanting alleyways, admiring its awe-inspiring architecture, indulging in local delights, and most importantly, witnessing the artistry of ballet in such a unique city. The energy and charm of this place has inspired my heart, leaving me with lasting memories and, of course, lots of photos for pink-tutu.com!
