Hello lovelies! Emma here, fresh off the train from Vienna and ready to sprinkle some pink magic all over Prague!
It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu travel blog post! This week, we're waltzing our way through the cobbled streets of Prague, a city steeped in history, charm, and – you guessed it – pink tutu potential!
You might be wondering, why Prague? Well, let's just say, this city has got all the right moves! The stunning architecture, the buzzing energy, the beautiful parks, and oh, the food! Let's not forget the food. And you just know there are some seriously fabulous shops waiting to be discovered – perfect for a tutu-clad explorer like me.
Before we dive headfirst into the Prague delights, let's chat about the journey! For this leg of my tour, I traded my trusty bicycle for a grand adventure on a beautiful steam train. This isn't just any train though, this one has those giant windows perfect for soaking in the countryside views! It felt like a fairytale! And did I mention the on-board cafe served divine chocolate croissants? Perfection.
Prague – A City That Swirls Like a Ballet
Arriving in Prague, I was immediately captivated by its storybook atmosphere. Imagine a blend of Vienna's regal elegance and Budapest's whimsical charm. Picture medieval buildings that whisper stories of kings and queens, dancing couples swirling on cobbled streets, and laughter echoing in hidden courtyards. Prague, darling, you have stolen my heart.
First things first, a quick wardrobe change! My trusty pink tutu – the one I affectionately call 'Rosalind' – is a perfect match for Prague's fairytale aesthetic. She's a dream in blush silk, with a flurry of delicate ruffles that swish beautifully with each step I take. It's like wearing a ballet tutu and a picnic basket all at once. Now, onto the main event...
A Date with the Ballet
Tonight, I'm off to witness a magical spectacle – a performance by the National Theatre Ballet, featuring the captivating “Swan Lake”. Imagine me, a little pink-tutu clad vision, gliding through the streets of Prague, ready to immerse myself in the magic of ballet. Honestly, this is what life is all about – travelling, exploring, and experiencing the beauty of the arts.
Speaking of ballet, I simply must share my top three tutu finds! Now, my dearest followers, you all know that my love affair with tutus is a well-documented fact. And let me tell you, Prague has some seriously stunning tutu shops tucked away in its magical corners.
The Top 3 Tutu Treasures:
- The Tutu Boutique: Oh, my darling, this boutique is a tutu heaven. It’s chock full of gorgeous colours, from a whimsical pastel lavender to a bold crimson red. They even have tutus with dazzling sequined details that glitter under the Prague moonlight! Think of all the photo ops, lovelies!
- La Maison du Tutu: This chic store is the ultimate destination for couture tutus. You won't find mass-produced designs here, but you will find unique creations that are as graceful and intricate as a piece of fine art. They are the very definition of "extra"!
- Ballet Boutique Bohemia: This charming shop feels like a time capsule of ballet history. From traditional pointe shoes to stunning vintage tutus, Ballet Boutique Bohemia offers a unique peek into the world of classical ballet. And don't forget their collection of ballet books - absolute gems!
The Pink Tutu Challenge: Day 1 in Prague
And now for the fun part – the Pink Tutu Challenge! As you know, I'm on a mission to get everyone rocking a pink tutu. Every day, I’ll challenge myself (and hopefully inspire you too) to integrate a pink tutu into everyday Prague life! Today's challenge? The infamous Charles Bridge! This bridge is overflowing with street artists, musicians, and of course, tourists galore. I shall sashay through the crowds, showcasing the joy and vibrancy of the pink tutu. Expect a whole lot of #PinkTutuPrague fun!
My Prague To-Do List (and some tips for you!)
- Prague Castle: This majestic castle offers panoramic views over Prague. I highly recommend the "Golden Lane", a cute little alley filled with quaint medieval houses that are now workshops and shops – definitely tutu-worthy.
- Old Town Square: A heart-stopping square brimming with history and charm, complete with an astronomical clock and beautiful buildings that would make a painter weep!
- Dancing House: I'm in love with this unique architectural masterpiece that resembles a pair of dancers – just my style! You simply must see it for yourself.
- The Jewish Quarter: Prepare for a rich and emotional journey as you explore this historically significant neighborhood. There’s a hauntingly beautiful synagogue, and so many stories whispered in the stone.
The Food: You simply must try Prague’s famous goulash soup! So warming and hearty. Don’t forget to try trdelník – a traditional Czech pastry, rolled in sugar, and roasted. Divine.
A Peek into the Week Ahead
So much to see, so much to do, so little time! I’m not done with Prague just yet. Next week, I’m diving into the ballet scene even deeper – heading to an amazing ballet school for a class. Imagine, twirling and leaping amidst some of the best ballet dancers in Prague! What’s better than pink tutus? More pink tutus! (You’re catching onto my vision, aren’t you? The pink tutu utopia is coming. It is near!). And as always, expect plenty of tutu-tastic photos from our week. Stay tuned!
And that's all for this week, my loves. Remember, embrace your inner ballerina, don that pink tutu with pride, and join me on my mission to spread tutu love throughout the world! Keep those pink tutus swirling and follow me on my travels at www.pink-tutu.com! Until next Wednesday, keep sparkling!
With all my love, Emma
