#PinkTutuPrague Ballet in Prague 2029-09-05

Hello, darling readers! It's Emma here, your Pink Tutu Princess, and I'm back with another whimsical adventure! This time, I've travelled all the way to Prague, the City of a Hundred Spires, and trust me, this gorgeous place is already making my heart flutter with joy! I’m writing this blog from the adorable, quaint cafe just across the road from my Airbnb. I was torn between two options today; I could choose the cafe with the cutest polka dot curtains or the one with the giant pink flower wall - tough choice, but eventually, I chose polka dots, after all, the whole cafe was pastel pink inside, a very Pink Tutu Princess choice!

I landed in Prague last night after an incredibly charming train journey from Munich (Germany) - I must admit, travelling by train through Europe feels truly magical, with rolling hills and romantic towns whizzing past the windows, like being transported through a fairy tale! You can find me swanning across the continent, performing my ballets and finding the most delicious, colourful, delicious cafes. Today was spent wandering the cobbled streets, admiring the breathtaking architecture (I just had to pose in front of every picturesque window display!), and exploring the heart of Prague, in my signature pink tutu, of course.

As I danced through the city, my pink tutu twirling around me like a blossoming rose, I couldn't help but be enchanted by Prague’s ancient charm. I felt like I’d stepped straight into a fairytale - there were picturesque houses, breathtaking castles, and ornate churches, all bursting with vibrant colours, it was truly stunning! The city has a rich cultural history, one that intertwines with ballet’s journey over centuries! You’ll be surprised to hear that the very first ballet show in Bohemia took place in Prague. It’s crazy to think the history I’m living!

I couldn't resist taking a stroll through the Old Town Square and was utterly blown away by the captivating Astronomical Clock - it’s one of the most iconic features of Prague. I stood mesmerized by its intricate designs and historical significance, imagining the countless stories it had witnessed through the ages! Speaking of stories, the stories of how dance evolved in Europe - we have the fascinating tales of ballet’s birth in Italy, its royal connections, and how it moved through the countries, the story of ballet in Czech Republic was amazing and definitely makes you appreciate this incredible art even more.

Prague, for me, is a haven for creativity and artistic expression. The city bursts with passion for music, art, and of course, ballet.

While the history of ballet was so enchanting, what truly makes a city shine, for me, are the ballet performances that grace its stages! Today was filled with wonder and excitement as I delved deeper into the Czech ballet world.

In Prague, you are spoiled for choice! There is the National Theatre – a true masterpiece of architecture, as beautiful from the outside as it is the inside. Imagine my excitement when I discovered a ballet class just a hop and a skip from my Airbnb. You won’t find a tutu loving pink ballerina saying no to the chance to practice her plies! I had to put my feet through their paces (you just never know what magical places will spark your imagination when it comes to dance) – a ballet class among friendly people in this incredible setting, my week is off to a magnificent start!

And then there was the magnificent State Opera! Imagine me stepping into the opulence of this beautiful building, my pink tutu shimmering against the glittering lights! You just have to see this theater in person! Its beauty makes a tutu feel even more divine!

The city is simply overflowing with talented artists - their performances are a must-see! And as a huge ballet enthusiast, I am so excited that today, on the 5th September 2029, there's something extra special in store for me. My eyes lit up when I spotted it on the city's ballet schedule - a very special, exclusive ballet called “Pink Ballerina’s Dream”! Oh, you won’t believe my delight when I read the programme for the show, my own ballerina history will be a part of it - one of the famous and gorgeous tutu styles in the show was my inspiration. The best thing? I got a backstage tour! Oh the stories behind the design of the set, the incredible costume details… pure magic!

And then the magic of the evening started! Oh darling, I simply had to share this – The ‘Pink Ballerina’s Dream’ was just spectacular! We entered a realm where ballerinas dance through dreamy scenes of whimsical delight! The colours, the sets, the exquisite movements, the tutus... Oh, what a beautiful celebration of ballet in all its glorious grace and grandeur. It truly embodied the delicate spirit of ballet, and left me completely mesmerised, and my eyes full of wonder, as always. The show was enchanting! And then the piece started using some of my favourite vintage tutu styles I couldn't believe my eyes and then they came into the spotlight! Oh darling! To see a few of my favourite tutu’s being worn onstage in "Pink Ballerina’s Dream” - simply magical.

The show finished to huge applause and standing ovations - I could hear the sweet notes of the orchestra ringing in my ears for hours! It was truly a captivating symphony of art, passion, and delicate femininity - oh the power of a well-designed tutu, it simply brought tears to my eyes!

Okay, it's officially the evening, but I simply have to share a little secret, it is the pink tutu Princess’s passion! This shopping day is always my favourite part! Every city holds a unique collection of treasures - that's why my heart is skipping a beat! I have been searching the streets for a few more vintage pink tutus and oh boy, Prague has delivered again!

This afternoon I headed for Palladium Shopping Centre. You must have this amazing spot in your shopping guide – just the sight of its impressive architecture – wow! There were simply a million and one places to explore – vintage fashion stores (and I don’t even need to explain how excited I got over that! ). It’s the best place for browsing through pre-loved, beautiful tutus – I managed to snap up an amazing find; a beautiful vintage ballerina costume and it’s just pink (like my blog, of course!) And oh darling, did I mention I bought a new little pink beret for my collection – It just felt like the right thing to buy with a ballet day behind me! And my tutu-love, well, it doesn’t stop at my shopping and my collection - this shopping trip just reminded me how vital it is to support local businesses and their incredible treasures.

Prague - my Pink Tutu princess dream city - you have captivated my heart! And I’ve met such friendly people here - everyone says “hello” and smiles! I must tell you a little about this one charming local store called "Tutu Treasures", I got chatting to the lady there and we talked about vintage styles for ages! She is just a delight, like a character straight out of a lovely little pink novel! And just to remind you darling, my passion is spreading my pink tutu love, well the local women were delighted to learn a few ballerina secrets and tricks, the store filled with laughter when I shared my pink tutu secrets!

The evening is upon us and the streets are lit by warm, orange lamplights - making my pink tutu shine even brighter (if that’s possible!) I'm ready to treat myself to some sweet and tasty goodies from a bakery - a local bakery filled with amazing, delicious goodies - what better way to end a ballet filled day? I found the best traditional Czech desserts with sweet strawberries and decadent layers of cream! Just delightful.

I simply can’t get over the beauty of Prague, oh my sweet darlings, it really is a dream come true! My pink tutu adventures are only just starting, but already Prague holds a special place in my heart. If you're ever in the city, let's dance a waltz around Old Town Square together, maybe even have a glass of sweet champagne - I promise, Prague will surely captivate you, my dear readers!
