Hello, my lovely readers! It's Emma, your resident pink tutu enthusiast, back with another exciting adventure - this time from the enchanting city of Prague!
It's Wednesday, and you know what that means - a brand new post on pink-tutu.com, my little corner of the internet where we celebrate all things pink, fabulous and, of course, tutu-tastic.
As I sit here in my cosy hotel room, overlooking the Charles Bridge bathed in the golden glow of the setting sun, I can't help but feel a wave of pure joy. Prague is simply breathtaking - the architecture, the history, the vibrant energy… it’s all just so utterly romantic. And I, well, I'm just a little bit smitten.
My Journey to Prague
Reaching Prague was a whirlwind of excitement. As usual, I took the scenic route - a grand train journey through the picturesque countryside of Germany, soaking in the stunning views from the comfort of my carriage, my trusty pink tutu, of course, adding a touch of whimsy to the scene.
This trip, though, was a little extra special - I actually had a little bit of a surprise for my journey: a pony. He was a beautiful chestnut named Chestnut (imagine that!), and he carried my luggage in style.
He really charmed all the travellers - I got to be the glamorous “Pink Tutu Princess on her pony”. I have to admit I felt rather regal! (Although it does help when you have a bright pink tutu on, of course!)
But even with a pony by my side, Prague had me dreaming from the moment I stepped off the train. I mean, just look at this city! It's like stepping straight into a fairytale, with its charming cobbled streets, historic squares and fairytale castles, all topped off with a sprinkle of pink sunset magic.
My Pink Tutu Adventures in Prague
And what does a pink tutu princess do in such a beautiful city? Well, we explore, of course! And where else but a fairytale city would I discover an adorable little boutique brimming with vintage clothing - my favourite! And to my utter delight, a stunning powder pink velvet tutu just beckoned me to try it on. Let's just say that I’m now a little bit richer (emotionally speaking, that is) and the Prague street scene is a little bit more fabulous.
The next day, I had a wonderful encounter with a friendly local dancer at a charming, old ballet studio. He actually encouraged me to learn the beautiful, elegant dance moves that inspired his grandmother (he has so many lovely stories!), and I learnt all about the wonderful ballet traditions of this extraordinary city. We laughed, danced, and of course, talked about tutus - we both loved the colour pink!
Speaking of dancing, how could I forget about the main reason for my visit to Prague - the legendary #PinkTutuPrague ballet! Held on 24th October, this breathtaking spectacle will see a mesmerizing collection of dancers perform in an historic building – the magnificent theatre of the National Theatre of Prague.
I simply cannot wait for the artistry and beauty I’m sure this performance will hold! There's something truly magical about experiencing live ballet in such an intimate and inspiring setting. I just know it will be an absolute masterpiece! I'll be sure to post all my insights, my reflections, my outfits and my thoughts on Instagram, too!
Fashionable Fun and Prague's Magic
I’m a true believer in using your trip as an opportunity to bring out the style that's hidden within - and in Prague, it's easier than ever!
The streets are bursting with inspiration: colourful boutiques with exquisite handcrafted jewellery, antique shops full of vintage treasures, and so much inspiration to capture. The cafes and bistros even offer delicious cakes, and you can be assured they have pink options.
Don’t get me wrong - my travel wardrobe, which has to travel from city to city, will have plenty of pink tutus in it, but when it comes to styling a look, I'm not one to be afraid of getting creative and exploring new colours, styles, and combinations. Just the other day, I found the most incredible pink handbag that reminded me of the velvet tutu I bought, so I have decided to have a photoshoot with both - with the amazing Prague backdrop, of course!
What’s to Come
Prague has already captured my heart, and I’m going to make sure to soak up every minute. I'm sure this trip is just the beginning of a lifelong love affair with this captivating city.
And speaking of captivating, my readers, I have a wonderful challenge for you: tell me - what are your favourite ballet pieces or ballet stories and why? You can tell me in the comments below or tag me on social media! And don’t forget to share your most cherished pink tutu moments too.
Stay tuned for my next post next Wednesday, where I will reveal more about the magic of this enchanting city and my Pink Tutu Prague experience - and the amazing ballet performance. And, don't forget, I'll be posting regular updates throughout the week on my Instagram, because #pinktututravel never stops!
Until next time, keep dancing!
Lots of love, Emma xoxo
