#PinkTutuPrague Ballet in Prague 2029-11-14

Hello darlings! It's your favourite tutu-loving traveller, Emma, and I'm back from a whirlwind week in the enchanting city of Prague! This magical city stole my heart with its cobbled streets, fairytale architecture, and of course, the incredible ballet scene. This week's blog post is going to be bursting with everything you love about my travels: pink tutus, glorious ballet performances, fashion finds, and a touch of that whimsical magic that makes Prague so special.

This trip to Prague marked the start of my new ballet performance residency in Europe, where I’ll be gracing some of the continent's most celebrated stages! How does one fund travelling the world in pink tutus? Why, with stunning ballet performances, of course! The beautiful people of Prague were so welcoming, showering me with compliments on my custom pink tutu. Each performance was filled with rapturous applause and eager fans - what more could a girl ask for?!

Now, on to the highlights of my trip!

Prague's old town, with its winding alleyways and Baroque buildings, truly transports you back in time. The whole city feels like a movie set, especially when you’re wandering through the picturesque square – Prague’s very own "Place de la Concorde!" It was here, in front of the awe-inspiring astronomical clock, that I had a magical photoshoot with a charming photographer I met. We even had a sweet pony come by, so it felt like I was stepping straight into a fairytales. That's one thing about this city, there’s magic around every corner, like a sprinkle of pixie dust!

Speaking of enchanting encounters, the highlight of my shopping spree was the most adorable little vintage boutique tucked away in a cobblestoned alleyway. They had the most incredible collection of ballet shoes – they reminded me of my own when I started dancing all those years ago. After an hour of browsing and admiring the elegance of bygone ballet eras, I had to walk away, a new vintage shoebox under my arm. And the best part? It matched my tutu perfectly! I can't wait to share pictures on Instagram later.

This week, I had the absolute honour of witnessing a breathtaking performance at the famed Prague State Opera. They presented "Swan Lake", and you guys… it was a dream! The choreography was elegant and delicate, the costumes were spectacular (lots of glorious tulle and swan feathers!) and the dancers… sigh. Their every move radiated precision and artistry. You could truly see their dedication to this art form – they embodied the emotion, passion and the elegance that make ballet so beautiful. It was a real testament to the talent found here. I've never seen "Swan Lake" performed with such nuance and grace! I’ll definitely be returning for more performances like that in the future!

After a whirlwind day, nothing feels better than settling down in a cosy coffee shop (and yes, there's a lovely pink themed one right next to my hotel!), sipping a delicious cuppa and browsing through Instagram. I was so inspired by Prague's artistic vibe and that it definitely fuelled my desire for all things stylish! So naturally, I decided to take the opportunity to check out the local fashion scene, indulging in some high-end designer browsing (because let's be honest, a girl's got to be fashionable when she's exploring the world in a pink tutu!)

My favourite finds were a quirky independent boutique selling amazing, modern clothes that fit with the classic beauty of Prague. I picked up the most exquisite white silk top that looked as though it was straight out of an early 19th century painting. The sales assistant, who had a lovely artistic flair about her, suggested pairing it with my ballet-themed silver necklace. It was pure magic and just the thing to compliment my favourite pink tutu – the colour combination is everything you want! I’m going to share it all on my next Instagram reel, of course. It's just too perfect not to.

While the ballet here has undeniably been a highlight of this trip, Prague has a million other hidden treasures that stole my heart. The medieval architecture is captivating – Prague Castle is the real-life fairy tale of my dreams! The views from the Charles Bridge were spectacular, with each side boasting magnificent historical buildings that will leave you speechless. Plus, the locals were incredibly welcoming. They were genuinely happy to chat about my pink tutu and where I was travelling from. I loved talking about their fascinating culture, about which parts of my travels they were most impressed with, and telling them all about my passion for ballet, and the magical feeling you get when you see a truly awe-inspiring performance.

It was truly heartwarming to see that the love for art transcends boundaries. That night, after enjoying dinner with a traditional Czech family, I decided to try out some traditional dances with them – they were a riot, lots of twirling and laughter!

And then there was the food! The classic Bohemian cuisine was divine. There are so many fabulous restaurants offering everything from rich goulash to scrumptious cakes, that I simply couldn't get enough. I’m particularly partial to the delicious pastries; they reminded me of my mother’s home-made baking, and a little touch of nostalgia never hurts!

My trip to Prague was truly a delightful escape – a pink-tutu fuelled adventure filled with beauty, charm, and lots of dancing inspiration! As I write this from the cozy comfort of my first-class cabin on a train journey back to England (I find train travel so incredibly elegant and reminiscent of old Victorian romance!), I'm already yearning for the chance to return to this charming city.
