Pink Tutu Rome - Post 36: "Amore, Ballet, & a Pink Tutu in the Eternal City!"

Ciao, darling tutu wearers! It's Wednesday, so it must be time for my weekly Pink Tutu Rome blog post!

I am, of course, writing to you from the utterly gorgeous, utterly fabulous city of Rome! Honestly, I never thought a city could be so…well… pink! It’s like my own personal colour dream come true. The soft peachy hue of the sunset reflecting off the Travertine marble, the blush-pink rose gardens…it’s like someone sprinkled pink glitter all over the city, which I, of course, wholeheartedly approve of!

It’s February 14th today, which means one thing: LOVE! Of course, you all know my undying love for pink tutus, but this trip has made me fall head-over-heels in love with… well, everything about this ancient city. I don’t know whether it’s the romance of Valentine’s Day or the sheer history surrounding me, but I can’t help but feel positively giddy every time I step out of my gorgeous (pink, obviously) hotel room.

Daytime Dream: Roman Ruins and A Dress to Die For!

The first thing on today’s agenda was the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. These are truly awe-inspiring! Just imagine - walking through these ancient ruins, imagining the crowds, the gladiators, the Emperors - it’s mind-blowing! And guess what? They're just glorious in the pale pink light of dawn. It was like a dream! And not just any dream, a tutu-wearing ballet dancer’s dream, I’ll tell you! I can already imagine the costumes I could design based on these spectacular ruins.

Then, of course, a spot of shopping was in order! I stumbled upon a darling little boutique on Via dei Condotti – let’s just say my credit card is going to need a little therapy after this shopping spree. I couldn’t resist this stunning, silk, coral-pink dress! It flows like water and looks simply divine, like something right out of a ballet costume! Imagine it – a beautiful ballerina in Rome, floating through the Forum, pink dress billowing in the breeze! Perfection!

A Ballet-Lover's Dream in the Eternal City

But what was truly special about this Roman trip wasn’t the incredible food (though the pizza I had for lunch, perfetto!), or the gelato (which I literally could not stop eating!), but rather the opportunity to see a stunning ballet performance at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma! I'm lucky enough to have a few connections in the ballet world, thanks to the performance pieces I fund through my dance fundraisers, and it landed me an absolutely beautiful performance of La Traviata – an Italian Opera masterpiece. The music was exquisite, and the costumes? Absolutely spectacular! Honestly, I can’t wait to bring my own spin to them. Imagine – ā€œLa Traviata,ā€ but with Pink Tutu Flair! Just thinking about it is enough to send a ballerina’s heart soaring!

Pink Tutu Rome: Love, Laughter, and Lots of Ballet

After a truly magical ballet performance, I am completely ready to share this magical city with all of you! So, join me next Wednesday, when I’ll be back with another fantastic Roman adventure! Until then, don't forget, a little pink tutu in your life goes a long way, even in the ancient heart of Rome!

Ciao bella!

Love, Emma xx
