Buongiorno, my darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another installment of my Pink Tutu travels, and today we're waltzing into the heart of Rome! This week's adventure is all about that glorious Italian sunshine, stunning architecture, and a pinch of fabulous shopping. I'm feeling very "La Dolce Vita" myself in my beautiful, new pink tutu, handpicked for this Roman escapade, you see!
A Train Journey to Remember
It feels wonderful to be back in Europe. The train journey down from Derbyshire, England was pure bliss. I adore train journeys, with their leisurely pace, comfy seats, and those picturesque views that flash by. Of course, no trip would be complete without a tutu. Let's just say, I think I brightened up quite a few tired-looking commuters, and earned some envious glances. 😉
Arriving in Rome
The Eternal City - a sight to behold! Arriving in Rome feels like stepping back in time. The historic buildings are simply magnificent. Imagine ancient history woven with bustling modern life – it’s incredible! We settled into our charming little hotel near the Pantheon, and you won’t believe it – it’s literally steps away from the coolest little ballet shop you ever did see. Can you believe my luck?
A Pink Tutu in Rome
Speaking of the hotel, let's talk decor! Our little boutique hotel is charming and elegant. Imagine soft pink hues, vintage lamps, and lush floral arrangements. Honestly, it’s like stepping straight out of a Parisian fairytale! I couldn't resist grabbing my phone to snap a few pictures to share with all of you on my Instagram (follow me, darlings!). A little slice of pink heaven!
Ballet Inspiration
Rome is teeming with inspiring beauty and breathtaking architecture. Everywhere I look, I see architectural flourishes that just scream “ballerina!” I’ve already sketched some potential costumes and poses in my travel journal. A little bit of Roman elegance, mixed with the freedom and grace of the dancers here, makes for an exhilarating and artistic experience!
Delicious Delights
You simply cannot go to Italy without indulging in the incredible cuisine. My favourite dish? "Spaghetti alla Carbonara!" - it's cheesy, creamy, and incredibly decadent! We enjoyed the most delicious dinner yesterday, in a little hidden gem, just a few cobblestone streets away from the Colosseum. I just adore those quaint, family-run trattorias – real Italian food at its best. And oh, my sweet tooth? It’s already gone into overdrive. You know me and my sweet treats – particularly delicious gelato! 🍨
A Little Ballet Show Magic
Now, for something extra special – we stumbled across an enchanting ballet performance just last night. It was a small, intimate setting with the most magical music. I felt completely transported to a whole different world, full of twirling and leaping, exquisite choreography, and such heart-warming energy. You just couldn’t help but be touched by the sheer emotion pouring out of the dancers on stage! Such a wonderful experience – the perfect antidote to a long day of exploration. And speaking of shows, there's an amazing street performance festival happening at Piazza Navona this weekend! Oh, the outfits, the music, the vibrancy of it all!
Fashion Finds & Tutu Fun
You know how much I love clothes! So, I just had to share with you the fabulous outfit I'm wearing for our little shopping escapade today. A stunning blush pink sundress, topped with my gorgeous tutu and some seriously stylish statement jewellery! And oh, how could I resist this fabulous shop brimming with gorgeous accessories – perfect for a special pink-tutu occasion. I may have bought a few new hats, some sparkling jewellery, and even a couple of new tutus… but who’s counting, right? Rome is pure magic for any fashion lover! I’ll definitely be showing you some of my purchases when we’re back in my little corner of Derbyshire!
