Pink Tutu Rome: #89 - A Ballerina's Roman Holiday!
Ciao Bella!
It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Rome adventure! I'm thrilled to be back with you this week, and this time I'm in the eternal city of Rome. Oh, darling, this city is just utterly breathtaking! Imagine ancient ruins, cobbled streets, glorious churches, delicious gelato, and all of it with an irresistible Italian flair.
Let's rewind for a moment to last week. It's amazing what a bit of good luck and some fabulous dance opportunities can do! You know how I always say "Follow your tutu!" - well, my most recent ballet performance, in Nottingham no less, has given me the funds to take this amazing trip. The applause, the compliments, the standing ovation! I felt like I could fly! And speaking of flying... Well, I am totally in love with the train journeys, darling! The journey down to Italy was so romantic. I just adore whirling through the countryside, seeing the world fly by and dreaming up future dance routines!
Speaking of dance routines... I’m still so excited about my ballet class at the Royal Ballet School in London a couple of weeks ago. My, oh, my, darling, it was utterly fabulous! It was just one of those days that felt truly special! All the little ballerinas in the class just beamed at me like they thought I was the ballet teacher. The joy of it all!
So, back to the fabulous Rome. My trusty, pink suitcase is now unpacked, I'm feeling chic in my pink tutu - the most glorious bubblegum pink shade that's just perfect for the vibrant energy of Rome! – and ready for an adventure! And this trip is filled with fabulous adventures – from visiting the Colosseum to browsing through charming boutiques (a girl's gotta have some fashion, right?!!) to experiencing Italy’s incredible opera and theatre scene! And, of course, every day includes a generous serving of the most incredible, melt-in-your-mouth gelato!
Yesterday, after a morning of wandering through the Roman Forum - a sight that takes my breath away - I found myself completely absorbed in the Trevi Fountain! Did you know it was designed in 1732, my darling, in the reign of Pope Clement XII! Now, you just have to know that, as the first sight on our grand Roman tour, we had to toss our little coin over our left shoulder - and make a wish! (To live in Rome forever? Of course.)
Oh, and did I tell you about the opera house in Rome? My gosh, it’s an utter stunner! I mean, darling, there's something truly magical about experiencing grand opera in this historic city, isn’t there? I even spied an exceptionally cute Italian man looking me up and down – and not just for my dazzling smile - during the show!
Speaking of smiles... darling, it’s a must to indulge in the pure bliss of shopping in Rome. The designer shops in the city have left me totally spellbound – just a dazzling display of style, elegance, and artistry! It’s definitely making my own design ideas spin. Just imagine the pink-tutu dresses in Rome - maybe I can do a special “Pink Tutu Rome” line with an Italian-inspired vibe... My inner designer is getting quite the inspiration!
Don’t you just love the Roman vibe, my darling? All that incredible history – the charm of ancient Rome seeps through the streets and whispers to you with every breath!
Later, today, I’m going to check out a ballet class near the Trastevere neighborhood, a delightful little district full of local crafts and artisan food - I may just find my new go-to outfit and try a local pastry or two, all before grabbing a delicious bite of a panini on the Piazza Navona – and soaking up the romance of Rome.
Join me next Wednesday for a new installment of my Pink Tutu Rome series. Until then, embrace your inner ballerina, live life in a beautiful, colorful, and bold tutu - even if you just dance in the privacy of your own home!
See you in my next post! Ciao!
