Pink Tutu Rome: Ciao Bella!

Post #109 | Wednesday 9th July 1997 | Rome, Italy

Ciao, darling!

From the cobbled streets of Derbyshire to the sun-drenched piazzas of Rome, the Pink Tutu is on the move again! And trust me, my suitcase is positively overflowing with the most exquisite pink garments – what else could a ballerina travelling through Italy pack?

This week, the Pink Tutu blog takes you on a whirl through the Eternal City, exploring its historical grandeur and buzzing with the fashion inspiration swirling through the air. Remember, my little ballerinas, Rome is not just about ancient ruins and gelato. It's a melting pot of colours, textures, and styles, a city that's absolutely bursting with possibilities!

Train Travel Chic

I can't tell you how much I love the train journey from Milan to Rome. There’s just something so romantic about it - the clicking of the wheels on the track, the swaying of the carriage as you race past countryside vineyards, the warmth of the Italian sunshine pouring through the window.

And, of course, every true Pink Tutu girl knows the key to making any journey fashionable is a perfect outfit. This time, I opted for a delicate, pastel-pink linen dress, the skirt layered with tulle for a touch of my signature pink tutu whimsy. And the pièce de résistance? A fluffy, pale pink feather boa – just the right amount of drama to accentuate the Italian sunshine.

The Trevi Fountain: Where Wishes Come True

Oh, the Trevi Fountain! A truly magical sight, the sparkling water cascading down like a graceful ballet dancer's pirouette. My wish, darling? To inspire everyone to embrace the joy of dance, to step out of their comfort zones and twirl in a pink tutu. And perhaps, to indulge in a scoop or two of delicious Italian gelato!

Fashion Inspo: A Visit to The Vatican

Who knew the Vatican could be a fashion inspiration? I found myself mesmerized by the intricate details and colourful mosaics. My outfit? A pink and white striped bodice, teamed with a flowing ivory tulle skirt and, naturally, a beautiful pink feather headdress – a nod to the intricate details of the basilica’s design.

I even spotted a little girl outside the Vatican with her grandmother, the girl was wearing the cutest pink tutu dress. My heart swelled with pride, a little glimmer of my goal manifesting itself.

Roman Evening Under the Stars

This evening, darling, was pure magic! I slipped on a glittering silver top paired with a full-skirted tulle skirt in the deepest shade of pink. And as the sun set on the city, casting a warm glow on the Roman rooftops, I joined my friends for an al fresco meal. We were serenaded by the music of a street band, their melodies swirling through the air like a ballerina’s pirouettes.

A Pink Tutu In Rome: What Could Be More Beautiful?

So, there you have it – just a glimpse of my whirlwind Italian adventure! From ancient wonders to stylish city walks, from gelato stops to late-night strolls, I’m experiencing the magic of Rome, one pink tutu step at a time.

Remember, my loves, a pink tutu is a symbol of joy, freedom, and boundless imagination. It reminds us to embrace the extraordinary in everyday life.

Until next week, stay radiant, darling!

*Yours, always, *

Emma

P.S. Keep an eye out for a special announcement next week about my upcoming ballet performance in Paris!
