Pink Tutu Rome - #111 - Ciao Bella! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

Wednesday 23rd July 1997

Sunshine, gelato, and a whole lot of pink...oh, and did I mention I'm in Rome?! ๐Ÿ’–

Dearest Tutu-licious friends,

Iโ€™m back with another blog post, and this one is extra special because, guess what? I'm in the Eternal City, Rome! Yep, that's right, I packed my pink tutu, a handful of dazzling outfits, and my very own Italian phrasebook and jumped on a train to explore this magnificent city.

For those who don't know, I'm Emma, a Derbyshire girl with a penchant for pink tutus and an unquenchable thirst for adventure. My blog is all about sharing my passion for ballet, travel, fashion, and spreading a bit of tutu-licious fun wherever I go.

Rome was high on my bucket list for ages, ever since I fell head over heels with the Colosseum after seeing an amazing ballet performance about Roman history. I knew it was the perfect backdrop for a ballerina in her pink tutu โ€“ and I wasn't disappointed.

Now, let's talk about the trip, shall we? I kicked things off with a ballet performance, of course. The Teatro dell'Opera di Roma didn't disappoint. The breathtaking performance of "Giselle" was utterly magical, the graceful ballerinas swirling like wisps of smoke, their costumes like dreams spun from moonlight. Afterwards, I treated myself to a scoop of gelato, an absolutely essential Italian experience. There's nothing quite like a scoop of creamy, heavenly gelato on a warm summer night. And guess what flavour I picked? Pink, of course! ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฆ

Speaking of pink, I can't resist popping into the most gorgeous little boutiques tucked away in Rome's charming side streets. This city is an absolute dream for a fashion-lover like me. Imagine, rows and rows of hand-crafted leather bags in all the shades of pink imaginable! I found a little treasure, a pink suede purse, a little souvenir for my mum โ€“ it was perfect for her collection. Sheโ€™s always told me she loves the colours pink and green together.

After a morning of exploration, nothing beats a good olโ€™ Roman pizza. This wasn't just any pizza, it was a real Italian experience! Imagine thin, crispy crust, melted cheese, juicy tomatoes and a perfect sprinkle of oregano. I could almost feel the flavour tingling on my tongue. And, of course, I washed it down with a lovely glass of pink lemonade, because everything is better with a splash of pink! ๐Ÿน

One thing I noticed about the Romans, aside from their amazing fashion sense, is their incredible love for the arts. Everywhere you turn there's something fascinating to look at, street performers, singers, musicians. I stumbled upon a delightful group of street dancers, their movements a mix of graceful ballet and rhythmic tap dancing. It was like watching a whirlwind of pink tutu-inspired joy. And itโ€™s not surprising given the city is filled with ancient history and artistry. I almost forgot about the magnificent Colosseum itself โ€“ what a majestic piece of Roman architecture!

Rome is a city that truly embraces its history and its artistry. Itโ€™s alive with passion, and that, my dearest Tutu-licious friends, is why it captured my heart. Iโ€™ve got many more stories to tell, adventures to share and even more pink tutu fun to show you!

Stay tuned next Wednesday for my next installment from the Eternal City. Until then, remember, it's never too late to put on a pink tutu and spread a little joy wherever you go.

*Ciao Bella, Emma! *

P.S. Did I mention Iโ€™m completely obsessed with Italian fashion? Stay tuned next week to find out what I bought and why I believe every girl needs at least one beautiful pink Italian leather handbag. ๐Ÿ˜˜
