Pink Tutu Rome: Post 121 - Ciao Bella Roma!

Wednesday, 1st October 1997

Buongiorno, darlings! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for a new post on www.pink-tutu.com and, oh my, you won't believe where I am this week. Rome! That's right, I've finally made it to the Eternal City, and let me tell you, it's everything I ever dreamt of, plus a generous helping of gelato.

After a whirlwind journey by train โ€“ nothing beats that nostalgic clinking of glasses and chatter in a European carriage โ€“ I found myself strolling down a charming cobbled street in the heart of Rome, clutching my trusty pink tutu in a chic canvas bag. The air was thick with the scent of freshly baked bread and espresso, and every corner revealed another breathtaking architectural wonder.

My first stop was a must-do for any tutu enthusiast: The Teatro dell'Opera di Roma! I just had to visit this magnificent building and imagine all the talented dancers who have graced its stage. The ornate details, the plush red velvet seats, the grandeur โ€“ it was pure magic. I almost felt a little silly just wandering about in my trusty pink tutu, but then I realised, it's just my way! Why hide away your passion?

Next up was the Colosseum, an absolute behemoth of history. I could practically hear the cheers of the ancient crowds echoing through the stands, the roar of lions, and the clanging of gladiatorial swords. It was truly awe-inspiring and left me feeling incredibly small, in the best way possible. Luckily, a friendly gelato vendor, Bruno, helped me with a deliciously large portion of strawberry gelato to get my spirits back up. He was so thrilled I was in my pink tutu โ€“ a sign I'm on the right path!

Speaking of treats, I found myself wandering into a hidden gem of a boutique where they sold the most exquisite shoes I have ever seen. Pink, of course. Some gorgeous suede pumps, perfect for a romantic evening stroll through the city, or for waltzing on stage at my next ballet recital. Rome really does have it all!

You know I love to combine fashion with my travel adventures, so later this evening, I'll be attending a beautiful ballet performance at the Teatro Olimpico. The dancers are known for their incredible athleticism and elegant style โ€“ I can't wait to be swept away by their artistry and watch them float across the stage.

There's just so much to see and do in Rome โ€“ I'm feeling completely overwhelmed, in the most delightful way possible.

Fashion Highlight: Did you spot my latest pink tutu? It's a delicate floral design, perfectly capturing the romance of the city. I even matched it with a chic pink floral head band, channeling my inner Audrey Hepburn โ€“ the tutu never looks out of place, just adds that little bit of whimsical flair, don't you think?

I'll be back next Wednesday with more adventures, darling. Until then, I hope you all are doing well and spreading pink tutu joy wherever you are.

Stay tuned!

Love,

Emma
