#PinkTutuRome - Wednesday 1998-01-14 - Ciao Bella! 🇮🇹 💕🩰

Welcome back, darlings! It’s Emma here, back with another instalment of my Rome adventures! As always, you know I’m here to bring you all the fashion, fun and fabulously pink vibes from the Eternal City. Today is a real treat because it’s our 136th post here on www.pink-tutu.com, can you believe it?

This week has been absolutely packed, darling! Let me tell you, Rome never fails to deliver a dose of wonder and enchantment, even for a seasoned traveller like me. You see, darling, it's all about the little things, like catching the sunrise over the Colosseum, which, of course, was the most picturesque way to start my day. Who knew that terracotta was such a beautiful shade, it almost looked like a ballet slipper! And then, after a delicious breakfast of freshly baked croissant and cappuccino (oh, darling, Italian pastries are truly the epitome of comfort food!), it was time for a little shopping spree in Trastevere. I mean, what’s a trip to Rome without finding the perfect accessory?

Today, it just had to be a stunning straw hat. Think a wide brim, adorned with pink ribbons and dainty little pink silk flowers, just waiting for a dramatic entrance to the stage or a picturesque picnic. Can’t wait to show you all, it’s totally giving Roman Holiday meets Barbie vibes!

Of course, no day in Rome is complete without a bit of culture, darling. The day’s ballet highlight, you ask? A stunning performance at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, an opulent and historical theater in the heart of the city. I can't believe it was even possible to get better seats! You see, darling, my talent goes beyond the barre - booking the perfect theatre seats is a real art form!

We’re talking velvet-lined boxes, sparkling chandeliers and the most divine view of the stage! And, let me tell you, darling, the ballet was sublime! A modern take on Swan Lake, which featured a daring costume change mid-performance that saw the lead dancer emerge in a glistening, emerald tutu, truly captivating. It's moments like this that remind me why ballet is such a magical art form; the pure talent and passion pouring from each dancer and captivating the entire audience!

We had to stay for the encore, of course! But let’s be honest, we'd all be lying if we said the show’s highlight wasn't the truly magnificent post-show drinks in the theatre's grand bar, all crystal glasses and champagne. Ah, the dolce vita! I think I almost fainted from sheer happiness!

Now, darlings, as much as I adore sharing the wonders of Rome with you, I simply cannot leave out the joy of indulging in the city’s cuisine. Today's highlight? Pasta carbonara. Creamy, dreamy, cheesy, a symphony of flavours all in one heavenly plate!

My trip wouldn’t be complete without mentioning a super special treat; the most exquisite vintage tutu I spotted at a local flea market! Imagine a ballet pink, tulle masterpiece, with little sparkling sequins that shimmer in the sunlight! I mean, darling, this tutu is destined for the stage and will, no doubt, steal the show. You see, the art of shopping isn't just finding a good deal, but finding that special piece you never knew you needed. Just waiting to show you my latest addition to the pink-tutu collection on the blog, darling!

Now, let's move onto what I have planned for you next week, because, as always, it’s going to be jam-packed with adventure, fashion and all things pink! I've already booked tickets to the Colosseum to watch gladiatorial combat, and it goes without saying, we'll be experiencing the best pasta and gelato this magnificent city has to offer! Stay tuned!

From Derbyshire to Rome, with all my love! XOXO Emma.

P.S. I’m thinking of adding a pink tutu to my gladiatorial attire for the Colosseum, what do you think? Don’t forget, every outfit is an opportunity to add a little pink and ballet magic. What do you wear when you feel empowered and magical? Share your fabulous ideas below! 🩰
