Pink Tutu Rome: Week 141: A Ballerina's Dream in the Eternal City

Ciao Bella! It’s Emma here, back from another whirlwind adventure. This week, I’ve been twirling through the cobbled streets of Rome, Italy. As you all know, my favourite way to travel is by train - I’m a firm believer in the romance and practicality of the railway! The journey was picture-perfect, complete with stunning scenery, comfy carriages, and enough gelato stops to satisfy even the sweetest tooth.

Now, I know some of you might think pink tutus are a little too "extra" for exploring an ancient city, but let me tell you, it's been the absolute best way to experience Rome! It's like I’ve transformed the Colosseum into a grand stage, and every piazza into a rehearsal space for my inner ballerina. Honestly, I've been feeling like a real-life Roman goddess in a fairytale setting!

This week's adventures have included everything from exploring the majesty of the Colosseum (which, by the way, feels even more imposing in a tutu) to losing myself in the artistry of the Galleria Borghese. Let’s face it, there's nothing quite like wandering through history wearing pink – it’s simply the perfect way to embrace the magic of this iconic city.

But Rome isn’t just about its ancient history, it’s also a bustling centre for culture and fashion. Speaking of fashion, darling, you know I can’t resist a good shopping spree! This week, I found a little boutique in Trastevere where I stumbled upon a collection of delicate rose-gold jewellery that just begged to be taken home with me. You’ll be seeing a lot of my new baubles in my Instagram feed!

And of course, what trip to Rome is complete without experiencing the glorious world of opera? On Wednesday, I saw "Tosca" at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. It was an experience that took my breath away, from the stunning costumes and elaborate sets to the raw emotion and sheer talent of the singers. I was particularly moved by the powerful voice of the lead soprano, and the passionate orchestra made my heart flutter.

I can’t go without mentioning the incredible food scene in Rome. From delicious pizzas to creamy pasta dishes, and decadent pastries to ice cream so good it could make angels sing - there’s a reason this city is known for its culinary delights!

It's been a whirlwind few days of deliciousness and wonder. As I board the train back home to Derbyshire, England, I’m filled with such gratitude for the beauty I’ve experienced in Rome. But one thing’s for sure, this isn't goodbye to Rome, just see you later!

Remember to follow me on my Instagram for all the behind-the-scenes pink tutu fun and keep checking in here every Wednesday for a new blog post. Let’s bring a touch of whimsy and colour to the world together, one pink tutu at a time!

Until next week, darlings!

xx
