Pink Tutu Rome: Ciao Bella! Post #149 - Wednesday 1998-04-15

Buongiorno, darlings! Emma here, reporting live from the Eternal City - Rome! It's a bit chilly for my usual pink tulle, but the cobblestone streets and ancient architecture make a grand backdrop for any outfit. You wouldn't catch me in anything but a glorious pink ensemble today. A vibrant cherry blossom pink silk dress, adorned with a delicate, dusty pink tutu that twirls with every step - yes, my dearest readers, this pink-loving ballerina is absolutely embracing the Roman life!

Now, this post is extra special because it's finally happening - the first entry in my Pink Tutu Rome series! Every Wednesday, right here on www.pink-tutu.com, I'll be sharing my Roman adventures with you, documenting the fashion, the sights, the smells, the tastes… all of it, in gloriously pink detail. I'm so excited to share this incredible experience with you, and of course, to continue my mission of spreading the pink tutu joy around the globe!

I’m funding my dream trip by performing! Remember, darlings, passion pays off! I just finished a beautiful performance at a charming little theater near my Airbnb. The energy was electrifying, the applause deafening - the feeling was truly magic! It's so heartwarming to know that my love of ballet can take me on such incredible journeys, and share a little bit of magic with everyone.

This morning, I took a wander through Rome’s vibrant heart - Campo de’ Fiori! You haven’t lived until you’ve witnessed this place buzzing with life! From the colourful fruit and vegetable stalls overflowing with ripe tomatoes and succulent grapes to the local artisans hawking their wares, it’s a sensory delight! I, of course, took advantage of this explosion of colours and textures, snapping photos galore for you to feast your eyes on later, on the #PinkTutuRome feed on my socials. Oh, I simply had to snag a stunning handmade Italian straw hat for a truly Roman touch to my ensemble. It’s absolutely divine with my little pink tulle!

This evening, I'm taking a spin class – a ballet-inspired spin class, naturally! - followed by a delectable Italian feast at a tiny trattoria just a stone's throw from my Airbnb. If my Roman culinary adventures are anything like my previous trips to Italy, expect drool-worthy descriptions of pizzas, pastas, and, of course, the divine gelato.

And before I wrap this post, darling, here are a few fun things that caught my eye on my travels so far:

  • The sheer amount of cobblestones! Every step in Rome is a journey for your feet and a gentle ballet of your own.
  • The local buskers with their enchanting melodies echoing through the narrow streets.
  • The charming, tucked-away gelato shops – my favourite indulgence is, of course, a scoop of pink strawberry with a generous sprinkle of rose petals. Divine!

Don’t forget to check out the blog every Wednesday for all things Pink Tutu Rome! From ballet performances to glamorous evenings in the heart of Rome, to tips for finding the perfect Italian outfit - you'll find it all here!

Sending you all the pink love and twirling good vibes from the cobbled streets of Rome,

Emma xoxo
