Pink Tutu Rome: Week 166 - A Whirlwind of Roman Glamour!

Ciao bella! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad traveller, Emma, here, and oh my goodness, you won't believe what adventures await us in the Eternal City! This week, I'm finally living the dream - exploring the wonders of Rome, and I'm absolutely smitten. It's everything I imagined and more!

I travelled here by train, of course - what better way to soak up the beauty of the Italian countryside? The landscape was a kaleidoscope of vibrant green hills, sun-drenched vineyards, and ancient stone bridges that seemed to whisper stories from centuries past.

Now, darling, I know you're wondering - what's a pink tutu-loving girl doing in the heart of Italy? Well, let me tell you, it's all part of my grand plan - to spread the joy of the pink tutu worldwide!

And believe me, my dear friends, Rome is the perfect backdrop for a touch of tutu magic! The vibrant colours, the passion in the air, the history, the food...it all feels so magical!

But let's talk about today - August 12th, 1998! I'm bursting at the seams with excitement, because it's a monumental day!

This morning, I started with a heavenly breakfast at my little hotel - think buttery croissants, creamy cappuccino, and a little pot of honey!

Afterwards, I was determined to soak in some Roman culture. What better way than with a guided tour of the Colosseum!

Now, you all know I love a bit of theatre, and seeing the Colosseum, knowing the battles and dramas it witnessed, truly transported me to another era! I can almost hear the roar of the crowds and feel the energy of gladiatorial combat! (Imagine, if I was to perform a tutu ballet here... the sheer audacity!)

Later on, my dear, I'm headed to The Borghese Gallery. They've got one of my favourite artists on show there - Bernini! His sculptures are so lifelike and dramatic! And just like me, Bernini loved dramatic lines and movement - in marble, no less! (Maybe he was inspired by my own art form, hmmm?)

Then, the cherry on the cake, darling... it's time for the Roman Opera! They are staging a performance of Tosca by Puccini - oh my goodness, itā€™s simply heavenly!

Speaking of music, you won't believe what happened when I stopped for a drink in this charming little cafĆ© on Via Condotti earlier today! The barman was playing the most exquisite violin music... so hauntingly beautiful! And then... what do you think he did?! He started humming a melody that soundedā€¦ like the tutu I created for my performance of Swan Lake at the Derby Town Hall last year! My dear, Iā€™m certain there must have been a pink tutu* thread in the music - or was it my imagination? It was quite magical.

And itā€™s all these amazing moments, darling, that are inspiring my newest collection ā€“ ā€œRoman Rhapsodyā€. This line will have all the whimsy of the ballet world and the drama of the Colosseum!

Of course, darling, I'll be sharing sketches and sneak peeks on pink-tutu.com soon. You can sign up for my newsletter and follow me on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook to keep up-to-date on my Roman escapades. It's the only way to see my tutu world coming to life.

After tonight's opera, I'm off to indulge in a spot of Gelato, because you know, what's life without a bit of sweetness! Tomorrow, I'm diving into the wonders of Vatican City - and yes, Iā€™ll be twirling my way through the Sistine Chapel. After all, who says the world of classical art can't have a dash of Pink Tutu glamour?!

Stay tuned for more adventures, and donā€™t forget to join me on the Pink Tutu bandwagon! Ciao!
