"When in Rome..."
Buongiorno, darlings!
It's your favourite Derbyshire lass back in Rome, the city that never sleeps – especially if you're a fashionista with a penchant for pink!
This week, as always, we're on the pink train, zooming into the heart of Rome on a quest to discover all things beautiful, exciting, and totally fab. As the saying goes, when in Rome, do as the Romans do, but à la Emma, of course! So ditch the gladiators and those dusty old togas - let's swap the colosseum for the Coliseum Shopping Centre, and those tired old sandals for...well, you guessed it... pink tutus! 😉
Now, you all know that I’m a ballerina at heart. I’ve danced since I was a little girl and my first love will always be a graceful pirouette across the stage. So imagine my joy when I found out that the world-renowned ballet troupe, Les Étoiles, are performing right here in the heart of Rome!
We're talking the kind of performances that would leave even the most discerning ballet aficionado in tears (of joy, naturally)! I’m not even kidding – the Teatro dell’Opera is about to host an epic, soul-stirring rendition of Swan Lake, and you just know this pink tutu will be front-row ready. 🩰
Speaking of performances, remember that epic street ballet performance I witnessed last week in Paris? You can’t keep a good ballerina down! Rome has its own vibrant ballet scene, too, so this afternoon, I'll be exploring the backstreets of Trastevere. Rumour has it there’s a “Flash Mob” taking over the Campo de’ Fiori – a surprise ballet performance with dazzling costumes. How exciting is that?!
This evening, we're shopping! Because it’s never too early for Christmas gifts (especially if they involve a little bit of pink). Via Condotti is on the agenda. We’re going to find some sparkly things, some fabulous heels, a few must-have handbags... you get the picture. Of course, I'm on the lookout for that perfect pink dress for the ballet performance!
